It doesn't. That door is still there in the full game, only boarded up (as I assume it is in this). If it was open it would lead to the corridor where Leon encounters Sherry and Claire.

The reason it was moved was because of map issues. It would have actually led to the S.T.A.R.S. office, when it was supposed to lead to the hall where you meet Leon (as Claire) or see the bunch of zombies eating someone (as Leon). Look at a RPD 2nd Floor map for yourself, I may be wrong but i'm sure the office is on the other side of that wall

*I don't have access to a map at the minute as i'm in work but I roughly drew it out on a page and it seems to be logical*

It's the same door I but it's located different also when you walk though to the statue the camera angle is different to all over versions.

Yeah, you're right. In that location it would open into the S.T.A.R.S office somewhere to the left of Wesker's desk.

I doubt that this was even a beta feature, I do think it was just an error. We can go into the office in the demo and there is no door showing that this probably was an error.

Another find what looks to be a hand grenade although you can't equip it, it also says what looks like "Firestarter" across it so maybe it's an item to be used rather than a weapon because it doesn't display the amount anyway you can get it by using the AR code 800C7130 0C50 on BH2BV2 an it'll appear in slot 3.
