yea I made that mistake earlier in another topic and didnt realize it was piracy, which I had no intention of doing, but it should have been obvious , im not a fan of taking copies of stuff with out buying it legally of course. So i was even weary about a dino crisis demo that is on download.com but i just personally dont want to get involved with this stuff and push the wrong buttons lol...so i wont

I don't think demo's are piracy, BioFlames has RE demo's up for download. Wouldn't you say hosting "Bio2 Beta 2" would be piracy as well? A lot of site's have it (RE Fan Sites). A lot of these sites are major sites and nothing has ever happened to them. Now hosting full games is different and that is piracy.

In my opinion, it ain't piracy as demo's are usually distributed for free anyways. Beta's another thing though... seeing as it's a nearly finished game. Don't be worried about the demo, if Dot considered it piracy, he would have said so.

Are you trying to run the .gcm file directly? If so, you'd have to burn it first.

I just want to play it from my desk top, I have the RE2 demo from my RE1, the one with the different path to the police station.

I guess id have to burn them to a disc...nvm...

The only way to run it is in an emulator, or get a Gamecube mod-chip. The chip is your best bet as NGC emulators are still slow and clunky. If you need help with the chip, let me know. I know a lot about that kind of stuff.

              TO THE ADMINS:

I know you guys frown upon mod-chips (as they are related to piracy), but I only suggested it as that is one of the ways to properly play the demo. That is the only possible way to run it perfectly with out problems. All current NGC emulators are ungodly slow and have tons of bugs.

There is another methode to play it

If you have the hadware for it you can stream it from your PC to the NGC and play it

I played it through GCOS V4F with sd media launcher burned to a 1.4GB mini-dvd with imgburn, It wouldn't work sdboot though for some reason, It also works in the dolphin emu by loading the gcm file.

No, we do not frown upon mod-chips or any solution that enables you to legally play your legally owned import titles and/or conduct various experiments.

In fact, quite a lot of our work and "research" has required such setups.

What we however do frown upon is the act of illegally acquiring a license for a commercial product without paying for it.

You talking about when someone asked for a code to stop the timer for the re3 demo as it's the full game

Yes, that's a case of a frowned upon piracy right there.
The version of the "RE3 demo" that you're talking of is the digital download version, which is basically the full game with a timer attached to it (a timer that is normally disabled by purchasing a valid key).

OK Carnivol. I understand. We have serveral mod-chips too. like for the PS2, NGC, PSX, SATURN. I think those little chips are quite awesome.

I'm interest in getting a spare GameCube and attempting to mod it. I read up on a mod-chip named Viper that could run all GameCube games in 480P regardless if the game supported the feature or not. Have you ever heard of such a chip? My only reason for such a chip is to play Resident Evil with 480P to see if it makes a difference in the way the game looks. I'm curious if this will do the same thing but without having to mod a GameCube.

I installed several Viper chips, they aren't that bad, but Qube Pro is way better. Viper has problems when trying to play some Emulators and back-ups. QP is the best, XenoGC is great as well.
