He's not in RE2. Or 3. Or Gaiden. Or Survivor. Don't make me go on
ok well some of those games werent cannon, Survivor, Dead Aim, Outbreak 1 and 2...gaiden... RE2 and RE3 still had some presence of Wesker in the Police Precent.
RE4 didnt have Chris, but he was still there in a way.
Survivor was canon. It was confirmed at the beginning of Zero or Outbreak or something because Sheena Island was mentioned. I find that anything can be canon if you use your imagination. I never saw any reason why Gaiden couldn't be canon. Maybe they managed to kill the Leon-BOW a final time (and for good this time), and the real Leon swims to the boat after it's dead.

Gaiden will never be canon
There have been many rude angy arguments over it and its been decided: Gaiden is not canon. So lets drop this part of the conversation immediately.
Outbreak is cannon. The story doesn't interfere with any existing characters or events.
Survivor is cannon. It is mentioned in RE0.
Umbrella Chronicles is NOT cannon. The events of the main games overrides the cannon in this game. Only the new events Like Wesker's scenario is cannon. All of the Parts that are shown in other games are not. Chris and Jill NEVER traveled through the mansion together.
Dead Aim's not cannon, neither is Outbreak.
There are new area's in the lab, even though Outbreak's before 2.
Also, most of the police station is blocked off, even though it isn't in 3.
The oil drums outside the RPD, can't be cannon.
In Kevins ending, he drives out as Claire & Leon drive to the RPD, but that's not possible since Jill hasn't been there yet, and 2 happened after 3 but Outbreak before them both.
Hence why the labs completely frozen in Outbreak and not in 2.
Therefore, Outbreak is not cannon.

Because Claire and Leon only traverse about 2 floors. Outbreak shows the rest of the lab.
Also, most of the police station is blocked off, even though it isn't in 3.
No, alot of it is blocked off in 3. What are you talking about?
The oil drums outside the RPD, can't be cannon.
Why not? RE3 takes place after Desperate Times.
In Kevins ending, he drives out as Claire & Leon drive to the RPD, but that's not possible since Jill hasn't been there yet, and 2 happened after 3 but Outbreak before them both.
Nobody has ever said that was Claire and Leon.
Hence why the labs completely frozen in Outbreak and not in 2.
Oubtreak happens before RE2...the lab is unfrozen during the scenario. Use your head.
Every RE game besides Gaiden is canon. Umbrella Chronicles has varying degrees of what's canon and what is not, but for the most part, alot of the material in the series is canon.
Dead Aim's not cannon, neither is Outbreak.

Well, if you're gonna announce things are uncannon because they're not exactly conistent with the other games, I'm pretty sure we're screwed as far as cannon is concerned. RE3 has incostiences with RE2. REmake, obviously, is not right. All those Crimson Heads and Lisa. Oddly, though, Dead Aim and Survivor get away fairly well with it. I haven't played survivor in years and Dead Aim only once but I don't recall any major storylines issues, and it certainly doesn't have anything as major as changes to a building, like RE3 and Outbreak. And so does Gaiden. Which, really, is a warning all by itself about deciding which scenarios are cannon by the scenery.
The way I look at it is this: Something minor, like parts of the RPD being barricaded and locked, or open when they would be later locked, aren't a huge issue. Working on the theory that Outbreak is first, then RE3, then RE2 it's quite possible these things were changed by RPD officers or, of course, Irons screwing with the defences. A bigger issue is the contradiction in how Marvin got hurt.
In other words...if it more or less makes sense and fits the storyline then I'll consider it cannon. Gaiden isn't, as it doesn't fit at all well with RE4. The scenarios in UC aren't, as they make no damned sense. Survivor is, for certain, as it was mentioned in 0. Dead Aim and Outbreak...well, Dead Aim I could see getting cut, if only because it wasn't that good a story. Outbreak, though, even with incosticies is a good picture of the devestation in Raccoon city. Honestly I don't find it to be any worse than RE3 for messing with existing places.
It is. The gameplay itself is just a dream sequence. But the files add to the story (such as the presence of a Nemesis model on the island).
Every game in the series is canon to a degree barring Gaiden. Gaiden is to Resident Evil what Snakes Revenge is to Metal Gear. Unless the developers say otherwise, nobody has any ability to dismiss what's canon and what is not. Exceptions being Umbrella Chronicles and Gaiden whose un-canon-ness (the fuck?) is blatantly obvious.
A bigger issue is the contradiction in how Marvin got hurt.
There was never any actual indication of how he got hurt in the first place. Desperate Times showed what happened, RE3 showed him almost right after DT while he was unconcious, RE2 caught him in his final moments.
RE3 has incostiences with RE2
Care to list a few? I can't think of any at the moment.
REmake, obviously, is not right. All those Crimson Heads and Lisa.
"Not right"? The Crimson Heads and Lisa fit perfectly into it. And there are various reasons why Crimson Heads never appeared in any other game.
Yeah, I was making the point that most of the games aren't cannon if you do too strict a criteria.
As for the differences between RE3 and RE2...I know there's something about the RPD area that doesn't make sense between the two but I'll be damned if I can remember what they are. And the Marvin thing, I thought, was in a file...but I think it was David Frost and I simply got them messed up.
