Resident Evil 2 was released for the Game.com, you know that, right? Well, it was only Leon's story. Claire's edition was in the works, but was scrapped when the Game.com kinda died.

I found a collection of pics from Leon's scenario.

So let's get this straight. A port of 1.5, no matter how unfinished, exists for Sega Saturn somewhere?

Biohazard Dash was supposed to, if I remember correctly, be a simple project that reuses many of the original backgrounds from Resident Evil. It was supposed to take place a few years after the game, and be about a new virus that turns people into plant monsters. The BGs were gonna be tweaked to have cracks and demolished areas.

Dot is right about extra rooms under the Tyrant's chamber. That was supposed to be where the virus originally came from. To me, it sounds like some of the material was finally used in Outbreak 2, in the abandoned hospital, as there were plant zombies and such in that scenario. (though that's just an educated guess on my part).

I'm surprised that over the years, no one has ever tried to do a fan make of this idea. As many people have made their own monsters, characters, and BGs, it'd be neat to play through something like this. (and since the boundry codes would be the same, people CAN remake the backgrounds and it'd work). Throw in some green zombies, a crap load of Spiders, giant snakes, wraps, plant tentacles, and a few new monsters & items, and there you go. Sorry, just me ranting.

Modding Resi Evil has proved to be quite hard. But, I suppose a good coder could have a go.

I wonder if re fps ever made it past the artwork stage? I'd also like to know more about the cyborg Barry storyline version.
If he had a brain, he'd be dangerous.

Cyborg Barry? Don't you mean the guy with the mechanical eye who turned into Barry? I read he was scheduled to hold up a whole roof at some point in the game.

never heard something about that scenario only about the FPS concept wich turned into the survival horror version we all know.

His name was Gelzer. And yeah, likely Gelzer was planned to hold up the crushing ceiling (where you get the Shotgun), but with him scrapped and Barry implimented, they changed it to Barry saving Jill from the ceiling trap room.

@ Helegad - About BH Dash, from an interview of Yoshiki Okamoto to Genki Playstation [japanese magazine].

"BH Dash was conceptualized between BH1 and BH2. The main idea behind this game is the existence of a room under Tyrant's final lab room. The game story is scheduled 3 years after BH1. Characters in Dash are different then BH1's. Infected plants attack Raccoon residents. Victims turn into plants too. After a while, it seems that everybody is transformed into a plant.

Capcom's developers wanted to use BH1 backgrounds but make them looks older (with cracks, spider-web and so on) and also create new rooms.

Dash was cancelled because the game development would have been too long and delay BH2 own development."

[[[ Please, bare in mind that it took me YEARS to find these tidbits of information and there is nothing else known about Dash. Nobody but Capcom know more details about the game. Thus, please don't ask about how many characters were in the game, what kind of virus was used and so on because nobody but Capcom can answer these questions]]]

It seems that the Ivy creature from BH2 comes straight from Dash:

                        and following.

These 2 concept arts, from The True Story Behind Biohazard book may be from Dash - look at the spider web everywhere. When the book is supposed to be only about BH1, these 2 rooms are not part of the game.

                        @ Helegad - About Barry

                        The cyborg guy is Gezzler:

'This cyborg half-man, half-machine was more powerful than a regular human being. His right eye was a laser device (used to aim at target).
He was STARS weapons and explosives specialist.
At one point in the game, he was supposed to prevent a ceiling to crush one of his comrade [sounds familiar ;-) ] by holding it with his bare hands.
He was later replaced by Barry, without the super-strength thing."

Edit: Oops, Alzaire was faster than me ^^

Hahaha, they were going to put in a cyborg? That would have increased the camp value by one hundred fold.

I think this is the room where you find the lighter as Jill, up in the hallway which leads to Yawn's attic room, but your right that it didn't look like this in the final.
