  • Fixing BioHazard Gun Survivor PC

I've just recently re-installed Gun Survivor for PC, and have wondered: would it be possible to fix the problems in this game? I could update the music to higher quality versions (rip the OST tracks and replace the game music files). Would the animations of Lickers and Dogs be possible to fix? (Read: extra screwed). The zombies have the wrong walking sounds (Hunter claws clicking. I know. WTF?). That should just be a simple matter of replacing a SFX code. Also, a lot (and I mean, a lot) of the game's textures and menus and even text is just .bmp files. That's why the install size is so big (981MB; really crazy). Last things I can think of is Ark's walking speed is too fast (he takes giant steps), and the cutscenes last way too long when they shouldn't (eg. animations taking too long, voices taking too long to come on).

Would anybody like to join me?

Yeah, that's correct. We could also translate everything to english by using a copy of Resident Evil Survivor.

I had my copy from Neo White Umbrella, and when I first saw a zombie, that was walking in this very strange way and sounds like Hunter (I thoght it was the sound of licker) I was all like WTF? Also, when I saw all those problem with textures, animations, enemies AI (if I remember correctly, when there is this long path through forest near the end of the game, all the Cleaners should try to shoot you with their snipers; instead, all of them appears at the beginning of the road and just stand there, doing nothing) I thought that this is just because someone screw to rip the game. But it looks the original PC version is the same.

And because all the menus, icons and text is in bmp, when I open inventory or options, the game starts to run slow as hell. o_O

This is the worst PC conversion I've ever saw.

You know, I've always wondered whether all the glitches and so forth were just because someone screwed up the rip of the PC version. If we could get a retail copy, maybe we could confirm this. However, I don't think a screwed rip initiates glitches (the game probably wouldn't work at all if it was a bad rip).

Seeing as how a retail version of BH:S PC is virtually impossible to come by, I wouldn't like my chances trying to find a supposedly European version of it which only Wiki and GameFAQs has listed.

So, does anyone here have the European version of Survivor for the PC?

I highly doubt it. Wishful thinking, though... It'd save a lot of translating.

It's a corrupt rip of what may be an illegal Chinese copy, if I remember my gun survivor correctly. Editing it would actually restore it to it's origional form...but the game isn'tm worth that kind of effort, to my mind.

I reckon it would be. It's a great game for PC, what with all the added extras (blending, mouse aim). I need a good rip...

If there was a way to edit the character, enemy, and backgrounds like in Resident Evil 4, that'd be bad ass to fix up Survivor.
