No. Capcom themselves will not release this, not unless managaement has a massive change in direction or someone somehow forces them. Instead the best people to try and get this from are former Capcom development staff who worked on it and, a much more likely one, reviewers who did get a copy. Those are most likely where the copies not locked in Capcom's vaults are, plus a few private collectors who are hoarding either because of it's cash value or because some folk just get off on having something no one else can own.

Yea by developer I meant an ex-employee of some sort. I don't know who Curator’s source was but I only wish the guy could have given Dot the opportunity to have it instead. I mean this way everyone would be happy by now and could finally have that Resident Evil 1.5 dream satisfied. Hell even the Curator could have done his little review on his site but still all of the community would have it as well. I just wish this all went in his favor but instead we were beaten to the punch. If anything I think that hurts the most.
Only being part of the Resident Evil community I have to ask. I wonder if any other unreleased game / beta has ever gone through this soap opera before. I mean we want this so bad that I wonder if there is another community out there devoted to finding a single beta, like Bioflames but for some other game, for an unreleased game.Last edited by alf717; 04-28-2008, 06:42 PM.

I've heard about an unreleased game called Thrill Kill. Supposedly it is a more violent game than Mortal Kombat, but follows the beat-em'-up genre. The beta is out there, though...
Now that I think of it, would Dot get in trouble for releasing 1.5?

You know I just have to ask why in the world anyone would get in trouble over this is strange. Where did this story of getting in trouble over RE all begin? I think this is just some lame scare tactic that has done nothing but hold us back from 1.5. I mean look at this way, some eager fan out there may want to release it but all this propaganda of Capcom will hunt you down is just a joke.
The internet has no shortage of wares and even legitimately released copies of RE can be found on the net and you don't see Capcom stopping them from doing what they do. I'm fully aware of copyrights and all that but this is an unreleased beta that will have no affect on them what so ever. Capcom gave up on 1.5 not us and we all know they have no desire to release this on any current gen console. Not even a possible DS or PlayStation Network release. I have to say if Dot found a copy and got in trouble I’d be the first person giving him money to help bail him out. This is all ridiculous I know but come on this scare tactic is old and lame. Look at the Curator he has it, you know it I know it but has Capcom made an attempt to find him NO! Let’s get over this whole “I’ll get busted over RE 1.5” mantra and just find it already.

And how do you know Capcom hasn't contacted Curator? Honestly, they probably haven't at the moment for the very reason he's posted no download of the game, and therefor, with his public statements of not owning the game, despite the fact we know he does, Capcom can't prove he has it without an investigation and yeah they aren't going to do that at this point. However, for some reason Curator did remove several of the 1.5 images and such from his 1.5 page, it could be possible Capcom asked him to do so, although I imagine he's just being an ass.
Regardless, we're not scared of repercussions for the most part. There are people here and within our friendships that know how to "release" the game that it wouldn't be a problem. The worst that likely would happen is there would be an employee's ID tag and/or magazine reviewer's ID in the disk code somewhere that we forget to/can't remove and said employee could be fired or be black-listed in the game development community. Some people don't believe in the ID tagging, but we have friends that work in game development that can confirm they do tag reviewer's and developer's betas.
Anyway, preaching about "Let’s get over this whole “I’ll get busted over RE 1.5” mantra and just find it already." here seems pretty irrelevant. That kind of statement acts like some of us in the community already have it and are too afraid to release it, or that we are scared to find it or something. If you want to say things like that, best go e-mail Curator and tell him not to be afraid. Although, that's pointless because he has his other reasons why he won't release it (site fame, source loyalty, ect). Not to mention he'll just say he doesn't have it anyway.sigpic

OK well I flat out apologize if my words may have sounded like someone in the community had the game. I have to say that you have shared more information with me than anyone ever has concerning this issue. I respect that you and this community would be willing to take the time to remove such tags to help protect someone’s job which to me is commendable.
