Insults like 'faggot', 'gay', and 'poof' speak volumes more about you than anyone (or thing) you use those words to describe. Simply because it shows how ignorant you are.

This isn't a personal attack, I just want people to realise that they are inherrantly loaded words. By calling someone a faggot, you are equating them with a view of inferiority. Of course homosexuals aren't inferior to anybody, but the words hark from a time when they were widely considered inferior, and the words still carry that meaning.

I myself am not homosexual, but I know alot of people here are. 1, it may be insulting to them, and 2, it's a bad reflection on yourself using words like that, especially when there are many many more (more or less) neutral words to use (like fuckchop, or knob).

As for the site itself, it's a bit Wall-o-textyTM, and a little colour wouldn't hurt either,

....how, exactly, is calling somone gay insulting them? Unless they're some kinda redneck.

There are plenty of other insults for a moronic teacher. Moron, for example. Even if the guy is gay...so what? Does it affect you in anyway?

I remember REsitez. THIA constantly hung around third and fourth on the thing. I forget the sites that were always above us, but there were tons of them on the site I remember that much.

"faggot" used in this context is a derogatory term and that wont be tolerated here. It never has been all the way back to when Ice was admin.

hahaha i had wondered yesterday if i'd be allowed to comment on it!

Such a shame. Despite the ads, i always thought that REh still had a lot of character to the site itself, now it just looks so primative, looks like the sort of site anyone could install with one click using Fantastico!

The Play-Asia advertisements are for an affiliate program, iirc. Everytime someone goes to Play-Asia through one of those links and buys something, the advertiser gets some money.

Didn't know that faggot meant homosexual. And technically, he's not gay, as he showed us a photo of him and his girlfriend having dinner while he was trying to find a map on his computer for our assignment.

In my community (I guess), calling someone gay usually means that's they're stupid or did something dumb, just like calling someone an idiot.

I don't mean it in a technical fashion.

About the Wall-o-textyTM comment, yeah I know, I'm focussing more on content than looks right now.

Does anyone know any decent FTP hosters? I need one for my site's downloads. 100GB minimum.

Lastly, can anyone do a banner for me? I'll give them $5 through PayPal if they do a good job

For what it's worth, i know it's not all about the money with REh...but it's bound to be fun seeing his reaction haha

I will have to disagree. I think there is room for one more.

New sites are always welcome, but the key is offering something other sites don't already have. I think you guys are doing a terrific job with Project Umbrella. The in-depth writing is especially what interests me.

That is because the website is private access as we build it at the moment. We hope to open it soon.

I totally agree... In my opinion THIA is the best RE fan site. why? THIA has always fresh news and the best features, insted a lot of sites doesn't have any piece de resistance...
A lot of site try to do the same thing, but THIA is the best!

But some sites try to do something special:podcast, radio...
For example REalm, RE italian fansite where I usually work, has its special section... a TV Channel full of nice videos: musical videos, tribute videos, video special, video in-game, trailer, cutscenes... It's still a work in progress, but I love this special section!

But then a lot of sites are either just poorly written, or pure copy and paste jobs from sites without credit given to the original authors.

Leave it to the pro's, they're doing a fine job as it is.

It's like people who setup forums on free websites, and then advertising them on an existing forum...what's the point? You're already posting on an established site, why should anyone make the effort to sign up for a pop-up ridden, slow loading free web forum that the admin will lose interest in in 5 minutes anyway?
