Quick Time Events - you have a cut-scene where at the proper time you have to push proper buttons, so the character can duck/jump/roll over/do anything game's developer want it to do; if you fail, you usually die. There's a lot of QTE in RE4 and Umbrella Chronicles.Last edited by Mr_Zombie; 05-20-2008, 09:00 AM.

Actually, I think even RE4 is an offender of improper QTE usage.
In overall, QTE is a terrible "how to play for dummies".
In pretty much every game that has them, I wish there was some sort of way to disable them so I could just figure the hell out how to play the game on my own. Yes, I get it! I need to dodge that incoming kick. And yes, I even understand that I might want to block that incoming punch. And yeah, I get that you've assigned button "???" to every single "contextual" feature in the game and that if the contextual feature is not just an action but in some sort of way movement related I need to press some direction or use the appropriate shoulder button, depending on how the game is made.

I liked Legend's QTEs merely because if you didn't press fast enough, Lara would die in all sorts of horrible ways (crushing, smashing, etc). Makes me wonder if the OFLC missed those death scenes when classifying the game. It's only M15+.
