  • Resident Evil Dead Aim (link to r.e 5 maybe)

Ok i just played dead aim for the first time today and completed it just now, i got a time of 3 hours and 3 mins with a grade C. I don't know if thats really poor but a C is neat to me, btw it was on normal just incase some ppl were wondering. I'll come back to what i think of the game in a second, but what really hit me was when i came across one of the files, which is written by Morpheus, its as follows:

THE SYMBOL OF POWER IS IN AFICA...
THE SYMBOL OF KNOWLEDGE IS HERE
    IN THE BIO-SPHERE...
THE SYMBOL OF BEAUTY IS MINE...
    THE BEAUTY CONTROLS EVERYTHING
    AND I SHALL DOMINATE IT...
ESTABLISHING A KINGDOM WHERE BEAUTY HAS ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY IS THE DREAM, WHICH I MUST MAKE A REALITY. I WAS DISAPPOINTED BY UMBRELLA'S BETRAYAL, BUT THAT'S FINE, I'LL JUST USE THEM IN RETURN. IF I SECURE ENOUGH FUNDS, I WILL MATERIALIZE THE CONSTRUCTION OF MY KINGDOM DEEP IN AFRICA.

now i may be going wayyyy into this but do you think maybe Morpheus is still alive, like he may be in league with Wesker or with Ada? I know there's prob nothing to go by on this matter but capcom do state that this game is part of the storyline, if i remember right. Also ppl do come back to life, so maybe Morphesus is still about.
Well i just thought i'd bring that to your attention, as many ppl wouldn't touch dead aim, so i've heard, but i think imo its a really good game and i loved it, after work on monday i'm going to try and do it on hard, i got up to the hunters on hard but kept getting killed, as i dont have enough shotgun ammo
But haters of dead aim, give it another chance, it really is a decent game ;), if this convo is pointless then please delete but other then the r.e 5 link, i'd like to hear detailed descriptions on why ppl hate/love this game

I doubt Morpheus is still alive - he (or rather she? afterall he became female Tyrnat...) was nothing more but a gigantic meat blob at the end of the game and he had nowhere to run when the base exploded.

I doubt that there's much Dead Aim involvement in RE5 for the simple fact that it wasn't a numbered game and didn't offer much aside from a whole lot of unanswered questions. Such as :

What was going on with Umbrella in 2002?
Where were all the other previous characters?
What's the deal with the TG-Virus?
      What's up the "Spencer Rain"?
Why would Umbrella ship BOW on a luxury ocean liner?

Dead Aim kind of just throws you into the middle of things at it's worst point (after the T-Virus turns everyone into a zombie save for the other two humans on board that arrive after the T-Virus had disapated- Bruce and Fong Ling.

Plus I think Capcom would have ported this to the GCN or the Wii had it any revalence to the story...

HND shows that there was a biohazard before the train incident in 0.
About africa. I doubt it is more than a coincidence since HND was made in 2002, but it is interesting.

Yeah, back in like 96' or something. I'll find the file and post it when I get home ;]

          "HND"

Hah, almost forgot the Biohazard version was entitled Heroes Never Die Had me bewildered for a second there.

Come to think of it, I bet it was that file in Dead Aim that got me confused as to where exactly the Mother Virus was originally discovered. I always thought it was in Africa, but it turned out all of the relevant files on the subject only mentioned that it was discovered by Spencer, Ashford, and Marcus, not where. Funny how memory works sometimes.

              Operator's Notebook
              --------------------

              June 16th, 1997

One month has passed since I was dispatched here. I am astounded at the sloppy supervision
of this Umbrella waste disposal facility. It's not surprising that this accident happened.

I know that if I must die, I want to die as a human...

              June 24th, 1997

The supervisor here called Morpheus, is so annoying. He drives me nuts.

He must pay more attention to worker health management and biological weapons that anyone
I have ever met. This facility belongs to Umbrella, but he obviously doesn't think so...

I have no idea how long I've been here. I don't wanna stay in this facility.

              But I can't move.

              My body won't move...

I guess it was 1997 when the Biohazard occured...

Are we even counting HND as cannon?
I thought it was agreed only Survivor was a cannon LGG.

HND doesn't really effect the story of the main series at all really... There's a file (the Dismissal Notice) which says that Morpheus was responsible for the Arklay Mansion facility accident. This of course is a cover up to protect Spencer's ass since it's a secret that Marcus discovered the T-Virus at all. Everyone thinks he kind of just went crazy and disappeared. Only a hand full of people know the full truth regarding the T-Virus' real origins. For all intents and purposes, according to Umbrella, Birkin was the discoverer of the T-Virus.

If HND doesn't make the main story sound confusing and doesn't conflict with any confirmed canon elements, then for all intents and purposes, yes, it is canon.

Yeah I kinda agree that Dead Aim doesnt overlap with much regarding the main storyline for it NOT to be considered cannon... In saying that I dont imagine Bruce or Fong Ling appearing in a main Resi game anytime soon... lol

Though I would love to see a return of Fongling and Bruce, I doubt it will happen. Duvall was just plain creepy...I love Alfred and his crossdresing, but losing your man parts and growing breasts along with natural high heels?.....Yeah...his/her final mutation was pigugly. Not only would s/he be unable to assume a human form if he had succeed in killing the heroes, but the missles blew up practically inside him.

Fong Ling? Lol, that is a stupid name. Sounds like a g-string brand.

Back on topic, the wierd parts of Resident Evil make the game what it is today. Too far out to be real, only meant to be enjoyable.
