  • Unkillable zombie in RE 3

    Hey guys.

I'm sure you've all noticed, that in RE3, as you go to the Umbrella office to get the oil additive, in the alley way there is a zombie in a room which you can't access. He just sits up there and moans alot. I haven't found a way of killing him. I haven't used any codes but. I suspect the splash damage on a mine thrower might be able to kill him, but you'd have to hack to get it early.

Anyways, here's something really interesting I noticed while playing The Mercenaries.

I wanted the record the chime sound when you get any bonus time in The Mercs, for a ringtone. So I went to the alley-way time bonus point (near the newspaper office). So the sound was clean, I set the BGM to 0, and SFX to 100 in the sound options. Then, I went into the alley, and could hear a female zombie offscreen. I couldn't target her or anything, and there isn't an angle where you can see her. Since it was a female, I thought it might be from the Newspaper office. So I went up, and killed all the zombies, and went to the trash heap again. And sure enough, there was no zombie noises this time. So the 2F of the newspaper office, and the alley are obviously the same, but separate, because the sound bleeds. There is just no way to get from one part of the room to the other.

So my question in short, has anyone used walk through walls or any other hacks to investiage this (in mercs, or the main game?), and, is there a way to kill that zombie in the window?

I personally haven't tried to use any codes to specifically go after this one zombie. If anything it was probably just an easter egg designed to show you the devistation the virus has done to the people. That the destruction isn't just in the streets, but extends deeper and that just because your indoors doesn't mean your safe...

That zombie could also have been behaving badly and so now it is in "Time Out" and therefore it's not allowed to play outside with the other zombie kids?

Seriously though, if anyone uses the walkthrough walls code or develops a code that allows enemies to walk through walls, then see if you can kill it.

There has been Walk Through Walls codes for RE3, albeit only PS1, I can't remember where, but I have used them before.

The zombies are just there for effect. There is no way that I know of killing them. I guess its something capcom just put in to have in the background.

I was always afraid that this zombie will try to get me somehow, insted I was forsed to fight with Nemesis there.

if they wanted to create atmosphere by adding unkillable zombies in buildings and stuff, why just one?

If there's two then you would need to start giving them names. Like Bob and Mary.

I don't really remember the room very well, is it high up or is it around the same height as you?

It's just a little higher than you. As if the first floor started like 2-4 feet off the ground.

it would have been better if there was someone banging on the window to get out and that zombie came up behind them and got them
