    • They should flesh out the other characters via sidequels. Don't have to be anything major, just little bonuses. One example could be Carlos going out to confront Nicholai, who thanks to the megabucks he earned from Raccoon City, is now living a lavish Scaramanga-esque lifestyle on a remote island in the tropics, taking multi-million dollar assassination contracts, spending time with the three-breasted chick from Total Recall, and accompanied by his butler and housekeeper, Salazar's lesser known midget brother, Hector. Carlos infilitrates the island, but in an act rivalling that of Chris' clusterfuckuppery in his introduction to the CVX narrative, ends up dropping his backpack of supplies, and as a result he is forced to make his way through Nicholai's island retreat via a series of McGyverisms, assembling high powered weaponry from basic household instruments.

Nicholai, being a methodical man and not someone to take chances, has also stationed an entire battalion of mercenaries from around the world on his island paradise, all of them have been artificially enhanced using cutting edge genetic engineering, orchestrated by that chick who played Dr. Lazarus in the ill-fated Robocop 3 - who as you are expecting, later betrays Nicholai when she starts to have issues with her conscience. She's also a prime candidate to fall under the spell of Carlos' sexy accent. Thanks to the doctor's help, Carlos confronts Nicholai, who takes the good doctor hostage. Paraphrasing Arnold's lines from the 1980s action blockbuster, Commando, Carlos tells Nicholai to "put down the chickenshit gun", goading Nicholai into letting the Lazarus chick go. Impressed by Carlos' gall, he loudly proclaims that he "doesn't need the girl!", before releasing her, throwing aside his pistol and drawing his knife, yelling "I'M GONNA KILL YOU NOOOOOOOOW!" in a Vernon Wells inspired scream.

The two men do battle, knives clashing in sparks, reminscient of the overblown knife duel from RE4 between Leon and Krauser. As expected, Nicholai is bested by Carlos but he pleads for his life, defiantly hiding behind his identification badge for the UBCS and stating, "DIPLO-MATIC IMMUNI-TEEEE". But Carlos is having none of it, and impales Nicholai with a pipe. Nicholai, in his dying breaths, activates a countdown switch, which in five minutes will detonate the entire island. Without a second to waste, Carlos gloats and delivers a cheesy Capcom one-liner, before grabbing the Lazarus chick and running to a conveniently waiting chopper, which to everyone's surprise is actually piloted by Jill. They all fly back home into the sunset as Nicholai's island blows up, and then celebrate with a much-deserved orgy of wanton sexual innuendos. Then we end with the music they used in the ending credits to Lethal Weapon 2, which if memory serves me well was "Cheer Down" by George Harrison.

      • Funny stuff, Mr.Spencer !!!
I enjoyed that... I'm ready to pre-order your game now.

My dream RE game, as I've wrote before on this site, would be GTA: Raccoon City. A huge sandbox game with shitloads of side-quests, playable characters etc. It would play similar to GTA4 but on foot it would be like RE4.
The map would include Raccoon City, the Arkley Mountains and forest, the Mansions and labs, Sheena and Rockford Islands and the Spencer Rain cruise ship.
You could do missions alone or get a 4 seater car and take along other characters you've unlocked. AI controlled like in GTA:SA or co-op online.
You can clear out and fortify buildings or homes to use as safe houses where you can leave characters you're not using and when on a mission you can leave the character you're using in a safe place and switch to controlling another one (a bit like RE-0).
The possibilities could be endless with this game!

Not my 'Dream Game' but I just had this random thought:
LEGO RESIDENT EVIL (...I'm a genius!)

          • Cool. That looks like a fun hobby.
I can't believe the amount of related, Lego videos that there are! I'd never seen people doing those before.

But the 'Lego Resident Evil' I was referring to would be like those other Lego games.
They did Star Wars, Indiana Jones and now Batman. They're a bit like Mario or something. Bouncing around, type cartoony platformers. They follow the general plot of their subject. Showing all the scenes you would remember from the films.
Lego RE could have scenes from RE-Zero to RE4... In cartoon Lego form!!!
I never said it was a GOOD idea. Just an idea...

On a similar subject; 'Under the Skin' is worth checking out. That has a cartoon level set in Raccoon City with the Nemesis, zombies and U.B.C.S. troopers.

            • I think they should make Outbreak 2* an open ended game similar to dead rising.

It would be on a timescale. When the time runs out Raccoon City explodes. Whether or not you escape is up to your decisions. You could play as a wide variety of characters or make your own.
You start with 4-6 item spaces but can find items that add more. Item boxes are in the game along with typewriters (ink ribbons are back) The game would play from a semi RE4 perspective. The game is open ended and events from the main games are scripted in and happen chronologically. (The hole nemesis makes appears in the RPD. barricades go up, the hospital explodes. the labs are destroyed.)
But you can find your own adventures and shape the events of the city. There would be various environments and quests that change depending on what you have done and what time it is. You can find and save people that may accompany you like the AI partners in outbreak. Or you can go on coop online and have simultaneous adventures, encountering each other at certain times like Leon and Clair. Every NPC is killable. The gameplay is like classic resident evil. You will need to solve puzzels and hunt for files and clues. Vehicles would be in the game. The entirety of Raccoon city would be available, even the suburbs and forest. Barricades would be destroyable. The number of enemies on screen would be less than dead rising but still formidable. But most of all the game would include zapping. After you finish a game you can start a new game that takes place during your earlier playthrough.
NPCs you saved, had follow you, or killed will affect your game because they cant be in two places at once. Destroying certain barricades will affect zombie numbers in different parts of the city. Ammo picked up or things left in certain places will either help or hinder you. Destroying the apple inn may keep you from getting a passcode that will save you a dangerous trip to the hospital. leaving a door barricaded in one quest may save your life in a second play through. Calling a helicopter may keep it from being in a place you will need later. Bosses would be a must and the random events of RE3 would need to be brought back. Having a certain NPC with you in a certain place at a certain time may trigger a dramatic death scene for your friend.

*outbreak FILE 2 is an expansion pack and not a sequel.

I love your random 80s references. I, too, am a product of that generation of fine film-making.

The only thing missing from your spiel is Carlos saying "It's just been revoked" before impaling Nicholai with the pipe.

P.S. I doubt many of the people here even know who Vernon Wells is...much less how un-intimidating a villain he portrayed in the Schwarzenegger classic.

Aside from you and Dot50Cal, I doubt anyone understands a single word I'm saying in that. But yeah, it's hilarious that Bennett keeps on at Schwarzenegger about his age, and yet he looks in worse shape than him. He should have earned an Oscar for that ambiguous performance.

That said, you and I need to make this shit happen.

well no not really, all youve seen is his back and him shooting, his character design may not have changed but that doesnt mean his way of handling hasnt, jumping through windows, blasting through with a shotgun.

                              Wait... I have.

Most of my childhoods fondest memories came from watching "western" movies.

                              My Resident Evil dreamgame?

A game built on CryENGINE2, utilizing the same concept of roaming and quests like STALKER, but in a modern town (perhaps even Raccoon and its surroundings), a full COOP with up to 5 people. FPS or 3rd PS a´la RE4.

                              • Don't care what happens during my dream RE game, as long as it ends up with Barry in a dinner jacket, sitting on a golden throne smoking cigars and drinking wine from a diamond encrusted goblet, while surrounded by dozen's of nameless hot naked women *including female protagonists if worthy of his awesomeness* watching the executions of Leon, Steve and Chris.
