  • Umm... Tank ones appeal to me. I recently ordered a bunch of old PS1 games with fixed camera angles and tank controls, because I miss them. And I know several other people who prefer tank controls over anything when it comes to Survival Horror.

    • resident evil uses it....i think alone in the dark did too didnt they? i havnt played that game in years, i really should what other survival horror games were there for the ps1?

      • Yes, that was one of the games I ordered and received. Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare.
There was one not very well known one, called Martian Gothic: Unification. I recently discovered it, and after I get through some of the new games I got, I'll be going through those two, to quench my Survival Horror craving.

Dino Crisis 2 used it, same with Parasite Eve 2, but I already had both of those games. And honestly, I liked Parasite Eve 2 better than 1.
Silent Hill, although without static cameras, did have tank controls.

        • Ah yes! i forgot about dino crisis! great game...great game. Have you played Dino crisis 3? i would of but i dont own an x box, i prefer playstation.

          • I haven't played it, but I heard it was pretty awful. Dino Crisis 3 is actually Survivor 3. The survivor series goes Resident Evil: Survivor, RE: Survivor 2, Dino Crisis 3, RE: Dead Aim, and Umbrella Chronicles.

Somehow, Dino Crisis was thrown into that series.

            • Thats something i didnt know. all I knew was that Dino Stalker was basicly a dino crisis gun survivor type game featuring 2 characters from DC2.

              • Dino Crisis 3 was a disaster. It happened on some space station in outer space, and they weren't even real dinosaurs, they were like, Dinosaurs mixed with Aliens.

                • I always wanted to know what happened with Dylan... there should be a REmake of DN2 or 1 I think both games were great, the first one had a lot puzzles, which was good but a little bit exceded. Regina was so cool too. She got prettier in DN2 because in the first one she seemed older and had a chinese kind of face. I hope Parasite Eve and Dino Crisis make a great comeback one day... those are great games...

                  • well my favorite RE game is RE3 NEMESIS, followed closely by Remake.

my dream RE game would have Jill as the main protagonist, and Rebecca, Claire and Barry as supporting characters.

it would be a during the Raccoon City Outbreak, in Raccoon City.

and it would have the classic camera angles and tank controls, and it would be about umbrella again, and have zombies, a new improved NEMESIS, and heaps of Tyrants.

ll add more to this later when i think up of more things, so this post is subject the change.

                      • I think aris is right. I would have made a game with Jill after Raccoon City disaster. I won a contest at a spanish forum where you had you invent your own RE plot, I won a pretty nice prize for it. My idea was related after RC disaster, Jill was the lead, and she went to Paris to investigate Chris' whereabouts. She then joined Barry and Rebecca. They found Sherry Birkin... (Rebecca dies after she tries to protect the child from a enourmous creature) A friend of mine made some artworks for that idea, main enemies where called "Las Lloronas", there was like black magic... and Umbrella was still safe and sound.

I had to investigate RE timeline first, I enjoyed a lot writing that story... the main theme was like RC though, Paris covered of blood, a real disaster... there were zombies too.

At the end they contact Chris, and they found out Umbrella's plans... Jill sent Sherry to Claire, there were epilogues, one showin' Becca's tomb... Now I'm thinking deeply, Capcom took my idea!

I will try to search on my cds for those pictures...

                        • I just wrote a script for my perfect RE6 opening sequence.

                          Enjoy~

Disclaimer: I'm no expert in writing video game scripts, or any script for that matter. So if it is not in the proper format, forgive me.

                          ------------

Scene opens to a dreary and gray New York City. Rain falls relentlessly and fog rolls over the skyline. The sounds of horns honking mixes with the many thumps of rain drops hitting hard surfaces. With a flash of lightning and a boom of thunder the scene changes to an apartment. The apartment is plain, with no lights on. The storm tinted sky casts a gray light in through the ceiling to floor windows. The furniture is neutral, nothing special. A white sofa and matching love seat with a glass coffee table. Evidence of a person living there can be seen in the empty coffee mugs and assorted messes. Nothing looks out of place or suspicious, just the usual clutter. The television is on, showing a commercial for a new cell phone.

The camera moves through the apartment, past a desk covered with paperwork. A familiar blue beret can be seen atop a closed laptop. The camera turns right to enter a hallway. A flash of lightning from behind the camera shows a wall of pictures. One is of a group of people, smiling and armed, all in front of a helicopter. Another is of a short brown-haired woman wearing a classic little-black-dress. She is smiling and holding a glass of champagne in front of tropical sunset.

A figure moves from one room and into another down the hallway, a shadow.

Another flash of lightning and a roll of thunder. We see a hand open the glass door to an elegant shower, tile the color of sandstone. The water is turned on and the camera moves to another position, just above the shower. All you see is the top of a female’s brown hair.

                          A voice over starts.

Woman: Sometimes, I want to erase everything. Wipe the slate clean and forget.

Camera changes to a close up of the bottom half of her face. Check, lips, chin, and just a bit of nose. Water glides down her flesh in beads as she breathes out.

Woman: The things that have happened…

A flash of a dark and ominous mansion.

                          Woman: The things I’ve seen…

A zombie lurching forward, its mouth gaping open. A shrill moan emits from its mouth, the hands outstretched toward the camera.

                          Woman: The destruction I’ve witnessed…

                          Flash of a mushroom cloud.

Woman: You’d think that my body would have crippled and broken long ago, that my spirit would have splintered, but it hasn’t…not yet anyway.

As she talks the camera flashes back to the living room, slowly approaching the TV set. The local news is on and the reporter starts to talk.

Reporter: We are just now getting confirmation that the airport in Harvardville is being shut down due to a viral outbreak caused by one of the passengers. The local authorities are calling the epidemic a biohazard. Eric Allen is on the scene with more information. Over to you Eric.

Woman: The thing about bad memories is that they tend to linger. Time ends up washing away most of the good memories. The bad things stay on you, like a hidden scar no one knows about.

In the background, the shower turns off. On the television images of a locked down airport can be seen behind a young black-haired male. Scientists in hazmat suits converse neat some doors, and police can be seen trying to keep the public as far away as possible. This switches to a man in a dark blue suit; the caption below says ‘President Graham’.

                          President: “My Fellow Americans…”

Woman: My scars are a constant reminder.

Camera changes to the now dressed woman, walking into the living room face in shadow. She wears a dark blue tank top and black jeans. The camera changes to view the room from behind her. She is toweling off her hair in a casual way.

Woman: They remind me of what has been done…

On the television the President is now answering questions from the press. There is a mad frenzy of reporters and media folk. People are shouting out their questions and raising their hands to be called on. The President looks overwhelmed and annoyed. He points to one of them and the reporter asks his question:

Reporter: Mr. President: Some have been comparing what is happening in Harvardville to previous biohazards, such as Raccoon City. Is it true we have another Raccoon City disaster on our hands?

President: We are currently investigating that at this time, but I assure you and the American people that they have nothing to fear over this incident. Thank you…that is all.

The media goes crazy again and people shout to the President as he walks off, shouting at his assistants in an annoyed manner.

Woman: And what still must be done.

She slips on her shoes as she sits and watches the television, a pair of brown leather boots.

Suddenly the phone rings, a shrill cry that is louder than the television. The woman mutes the TV and stands up, walking towards the phone on the desk. It rings again, and just after the woman picks it up.

                          Woman: Hello?

The voice that answers her is British.

                          Caller: Agent Jill Valentine?

In a flash of lightning the camera changes to show Jill’s entire face. Her hair is a little longer, but still as brown.

                          Jill: Speaking… *suspicious tone*

Voice: My name is Thomas Mason of BSAA Europe.

Jill straightens up, gripping the receiver tighter.

Jill: How may I help you Thomas?

Thomas: We require your…help and expertise.

In a flash of lighting and echo of thunder the scene has changed back to the dreary and ominous New York City. In another flash of lightning, words slowly start to materialize against the dark sky.

                          RESIDENT EVIL 6

The screen fades to black and Thomas is speaking again.

Thomas: How quickly can you get to Romania?
