    ok i forgot about this but during Ada's deaths door scenario on Umbrella Chronicles she is told by Wesker about the helicopter leaving Racoon City in which we see Sergei Vladimir talking to an unknown man on a respirator.
    Does anybody actually know who this man is, did we find out or is he just another mystery?

    My personal thought is that it was actually Ozwell Spencer himself

    I think it is Spencer.

    The mystery man for me was Ada's contact. Maybe its just me, but when you first see him slumped in the chair, he looks like Wesker. Yet from behind, his hair is grey like Nicholai's. Considering Nicholai escaped Raccoon, we know that isn't him.

          Well he's like...80 or so. His age isn't really ever given, but he was one of the original founders...and considering how old Marcus was when Wesker and Birkin killed him, I'd think Spencer would be just as old.

            hmm, if marcus was still alive he would be like 90 this year so Spencer will most probably be the same age as him or near enough

              Theres almost no mystery to it, just because there's almost no one else it could be. It's either Spencer, or someone entirely new.

                I don't think its Spencer cause he was in Europe at the Paris facility and don't think he had been in the city since the beginning days of the manison. Also when the guy is talking to Sergei he says "you stole a computer core from your own company." If that was Spencer he wouldn't have said your own company cause he owns it. Plus in one of the files, Spencer asks Segrei to do him a favor which I assume is get the computer core and this mysterious man is questioning Sergei actions.

                  Well the thing is Wesker mentions it is a high ranking Umbrella official. With Spencer being the age he was and Sergei being as physically powerful as he was, I doubt the old man would say anything to piss him off.

                  Besides that, the computer system would have been destroyed when Raccoon was bombed. Just because he said "stole it from your company" doesn't necessarily mean they didn't both belong to Umbrella. I can't remember, but I think the old man had an Umbrella pin on his suit.

                  Which letter are you talking about? If it has a date, check to make sure when it is. It could be before or after Raccoon.

                    Sealed Letter to Sergei Vladimir

                    Dear Colonel,

                    It has been so long since we last met. Has summer come to Russia yet?

                    I realize it is sudden, but I have a request that only you can handle, old friend. You already know from the television conference the other day that a response to the incident at Arklay has been ordered.

                    The mail calling for X Day Procedure has already been sent. There are stirrings behind closed doors calling for a “disposal” of the entire facility. However, I just cannot help but feel it is a waste, what with our guardian of Crete.

                    I apologise for having to make this request of you, but could you fly to Raccoon and recover the prototype for me? There is cause for the urgency of this request. Hidden forces are at work, trying to back me into a corner.

                    I suspect there is more to the virus outbreak and other various incidents than is suspected. The company has decided to destroy any evidence implicating their involvement. In the current circumstances, I fear that any correspondence sent by traditional means would be monitored, and so I sealed this message.

                    Umbrella is embroiled in a dangerous situation, and these are dangerous times. This is when those who would take advantage of such misfortune will begin to emerge. You have always been our loyal cleaner, and the time when your services are needed has come again.

                    Happy hunting.

                    (unsigned, but stamped by an old seal)

                      I see...so no date.

                      The way I read the last part...Sergei being a loyal 'cleaner'...I think perhaps that has a lot to do with Wesker and people like him.

                      If the man on the helicopter isn't Spencer, then Capcom has given us yet another mystery to try and shift through. Damn...I'm starting to feel like its another tale of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys.

                          Did you guys ever think that the old man in the helicopter might not be important? -_-

                          And as fo the letter its referring to the mansion incident so it has to be during the week before RE1.

                              The "Guardian of Crete" is a reference to Talos from Greecian history. In greek mythology, Talos was a giant man of bronze who protected Crete by circling the island's shores three times daily while guarding it. The basis for this myth may have come from the fact that Talos may have been a representation of the Minoan fleet armed with metallic weapons. When the Greeks from the Argonauts defeated the Talos, the power of Crete vanished.

                              Now, lets play replace the metaphors.

                              Crete = Umbrella
                              Talos = TALOS
                              Greek Argonauts = STARS

                              When the Greeks from the Argonauts defeated the Talos, the power of Crete vanished.

                              .: TURNS INTO :.

                              When STARS defeated TALOS, the power of Umbrella vanished.
