  • Official Biohazard 0 Wii Edition Thread

I figured since its so close to release for this now that we should get this topic up and running. Please feel free to voice your opinion on the game.

While I was initially a bit surprised and somewhat down about this, I've since come around to the idea. I'm curious as to how they handle the widescreen issue. Though part of me thinks that this is Japan only because they don't have an adequate solution to that which the American market would like (we are pretty picky). Another bonus is the ability to run the game in progressive mode, something the original lacked.

I'll be picking it up at launch and will post my impressions here, as well as a quick comparison of the Gamecube and Wii versions. I assume they'd look identical, but you never know.

cvxfreak has sent me a scan of an ad that appeared in Famitsu for it, which you can view below.

I'm obviously going to buy the game, add it to my collection whether i like it or not. I think I may like it as long as they havent messed around with things, like in Umbrella Chronicles they changed the story, young Marcus didnt even get an appearence.
I think as long as they keep the storyline exactly the same this game will be good, it will be awesome to play it from a new perspective so to speak

Honestly? I don't see the need, really, and I wouldn't buy it if it came out over here. I do have both the CG and Wii versions of RE4 but that's for the extra content. To make me even bother looking at this it would need some kind of new content and, since it doesn't have it, I just don't get the point. Being able to play with the Wii controller isn't a big enough thing, really.

5 bucks says that widescreen means they zoom what you normally see and crop out the top and/or bottom bits.

Seriously. I still find this game pointless, since you can just buy a used copy of Zero or something. (the only problem I'm facing right now is that both my GC controllers are busted =__=)

Do Japanese Wii games work on European Wiis? If so, I might buy it, I've always wanted to play this game but was turned off by the GameCube pad, which I don't like at all

Nope, that Freeloader thing worked for a while, until Nintendo did a system upgrade. I would think that all new games will now force an upgrade before you can play them.

I might get this, just to add to the collection, but I'd be very suprised if it wasn't exactly a 1:1 copy of the GameCube version

The Wii Freeloader supposedly defeats the system update requirement, Mattjon.

I thought that they cancelled RE GBC because they "don't believe in the needless milking of franchises".
