Didn't notice that those flying things were BOWs until now either, I just thought they were random mutant bats from Silent Hill 4 or something. Makes me glad they're called BOWs, after playing Resident Evil 4 I'm missing the word. Kinda freaky when they came out of some guys head, though.
Oh, that animation where some guy was shot, fell and rolled around was quite nice even though he rolled into a wall but kept rolling.
I noticed he would stand in place for a bit....not sure if that is intentionally done or not.

    • Oh, maybe I'am wrong, but RE5 was also the first game when people were saing 'F.ck'. I think its fine, becouse it makes game feel more realistic. And yeah it was great to hear that creatures are cold BOW again.

I really don't think cursing makes the game any better. Practically any M rated game these days has harsh language. It's just another way RE is following the flow.

        • I think most game are getting too vulgar as far as language goes.
Won't be suprised if Mario does it next.

          • What i was trying to say, is that its not making game better, so lets put cursing into every game, no its just makes it sounds more realistic. Because I think that if person is atacked by monsters, it would say something like that and not: "This is bad, I'am going down, help". Normal life people don't speak like bulletproof Leon SKennedy under some preasure.

            • Or you could say, 'Son of a Bitch,' or 'ARGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH ZOMBIESSSSSSSS.'

Swearing is just a cheap way to make a game edgy. It's never, ever required as even a simple 'damn' will do the job. It's the same with a few other things, like child monsters. The guy behind RE decided that they should never be there because they're a cheap scare, and I agree with him...if you need child monsters to get the horror and such of a tale over then you're doing it wrong. Same with swearing. If that's what you need to make a game edgy you're doing something wrong.

Obviously, there are exceptions, but RE isn't one of them.

That was not intentional. He ran a bit, stood still for several seconds not even flinching when shot, then ran straight in one direction. Near the end of the trailer on Gametrailers where they run up into the building to hide it's very obvious - near the end he runs at Sheva and then kinda teleport-turns (he suddenly just faced another direction) aswell, which looked quite unimpressive. That he isn't reacting to any gunfire from what I remember, his programming and animation is probably very much undone at this time.

                  He does. Backstage.

Clearly an alternative. I hope they don't overdo it though. I like the "damn"s and "oh, shit"s.

Actually, Mikami chose not to have child zombies in RE because he felt it would be crossing a line that shouldn't be crossed. It had nothing to do with being a "cheap scare."

                    • And that actually means that during the whole existanse of Racoon City the only child that lived there was Shery Sensore sometimes makes the games look ilogic. I don't belive that during the terible outbreak in Racoon, were 500000 of people were turned in zombies or worse, there were no child zombies and only one black zombie (Marvin). But the game haven't sufered from it at all IMO.

My bad. It's been a while since I read that one so I got it mixed up.

I have wondered about child zombies. Always figured that a zombie would inflict too much damage on a kid for it to reanimate so they'd be much, much rarer.

                          • But atleast they should have been shown somehow, if not in gameplay (yeah I understand that it would be too hardcore, but zombie is a zombie no matter how old is it, it is not a human anymore) than atleast in a cinematic of some sort, a good example is a RE3 intro. Atleast one sceen would be enough for people to understand that there are a child zombies.

                            • They could make up something like the virus would just simply kill a child rather than turn them into a zombie.

                              • Yeah they could, actually they used this explanation in RE4 for why there were no kids. But why then rats and roaches didn't die because of virus? Ah.. Its a dark forest and I don't want to get lost there
