Who is the cloaked woman in RE5?

It's possible that it's a returning character. Claire makes most sense storyline wise, if Sherry is in the game. Certainly more than Chris himself finding Sherry. Jill also works somewhat. Either could be under cover trying to find out the source of Firework's newest weapons...living people corrupted into monsters that aren't zombies. If that's whose behind it, of course, or the front man for it. I'm too concerned by the models and such, since they might still be tweaked...and I'm not one to believe in Capcom having an eye for such things.

Ada would only make sense with Leon, so I doubt it's her, and while I'd love to see Rebecca again I somehow doubt it.

I still think it's actually Sherry herself. If part of Chris' mission is to find her, and he has a photo, then it would explain why she's masked (in game play terms). I suspect they've decided to go the Alice route with her, making her a super powered bad ass chick, and so if she's being fed on a cocktail of happy drugs to keep her under control she'd make an effective fighter and bodyguard.

As to why Capcom might disguise a new character...because it looks cool?

I suppose Sherry might be the masked woman (that was my initial feelings with the Famitsu scans), but I think maybe Sherry is the prisoner being injected by "Chesty" in the cell, before chesty leaves with masked woman. Also, Sherry looks to be weakened when she is slumped over in Chris's arms in the one screencap. (If Sherry is the blonde in the red dress.)

Claire does hold an important link to Sherry, but there's no reason why another Redfield can't be just as good. It's not like none of the other RE characters would NOT know anything about Sherry Birkin. Claire or Leon shoud have realized the kid went missing years ago, and both of them (plus their other RE associates) should have been on the lookout for her since then...and maybe that is why she could be the masked / cloaked woman...

...I'll keep my fingers crossed for Jill. The *possible* conclusion to the Wesker storyline wouldn't be the same without Jill & Chris side-by-side. If Sheva doesn't get offed before the end of the game, I will be damn surprised.

And yet everyone wouldn't consider the game to be right if Sherry was in it and not Claire.

Ada never really was a hero figure in the games...I would personally love to see her without Leon tagging around like a love sick puppy dog. She may have spared and helped him out of compassion, but she always wanted the samples and in the end of re4 when she had her chance to escape with Leon, she didn't take it. She took the sample and ran. For all we know her company could be worse than Wesker. And that would make sense: Once you take out one evil guy, worse ones pop up afterwards. And, if Capcom follows through and ties up the loose ends connected to Chris and Wesker, having Ada's company take the reigns of the evil force would give them reason to continue the series.

From what I could tell....there is a slight height difference between the blonde shown with Chris and the masked figure. However, the scan really doesn't provide too much fact to that considering the girl isn't standing too much on her own feet, and the masked girl is often viewed from weird angles.

crap i forgot what i was gunna say, ....................................oh yes, where and how did sherry go missing in the games? i never saw her get taken at the end of RE2 so idk i also havent play alot of the off branch game either so can someone kinda fill me in there?

It was stated in the first Wesker Report that Sherry was in Wesker's hands.
