As for this topic, I once more have to say that I think everyone's acting like a pile of winy little bitches in this topic. Especially over things they clearly don't understand and (possibly even worse) scenes that are taking totally out of context and heavily trimmed down for the purpose of trailer/marketing usage.

Well, folks are simply reacting to what Sony or Capcom or whoever want them to see. It's never a good idea to try and assume too much from a trailer (Leon might actually have a personality) but if people don't like what they're seeing then the trailer's to blame, really. And the trailer is supposed to represent the movie,

I'm still looking foward to it, though, and I reckon it'll have a really nice old school feel to it. I just wish we had a few more details...not too many, mind, because then it would be spoilerific.

Well, to put things one way:

I remember when the first Resident Evil movie was announced. The reaction was "wow, awesome!". I remember when the first trailers came out, the reactions were "HOLY SHIT! It's really happening!!!". And I also remember when everyone was doing their first impressions of it after seeing it, the reactions were also stuff like "It wasn't the best movie ever, didn't really represent the games very well either, but still... we got a RESIDENT EVIL MOVIE!!! AWESOME!". (Now it's all about how the movies strayed too far of into their own little world. To me, the movies got gradually worse. And the teaser for the 2nd is still the best thing to've come from the movie franchise. But hey, now we're getting a game series faithful movie, w00t!)


Anyway,
I don't understand why people don't like the line "try not to get killed". I think it's a perfectly fine line. Even if it's taking the situation at hand with a bit of black humor.

If you think it's "cheesy", or anything like that, I think it's time to go back and play Resident Evil 1.

The trailer is awesome but am I the only one who doesn't like the animation?? In my eyes RE2/3/4 FMVs had more fluid animation

I'm pretty excited about this still, the trailer looks pretty awesome and i'm sure i caught a glimpse of Mr X at one point to.
Not too sure about the eyeball creature thing but i may feel differently about it when it's explained what it is.
The only thing that will bother me about this movie is Leon, what a smug ass he is, i liked him in Resident Evil 2, in 4 he went down in my estimations but seeing him use his middle initial when asked his name, thats just annoying

She doesn't need to "try not to be killed", as far as I'm concerned, they've both been through hell already, and the fact this is after CVX.

Nevertheless, the trailer looks promising, and I do wait for this.
It's going to be so fun and cool, RPD Leon is cooler, though.

There's two scenarios for each character.
If it was Clair A+Leon A then they would be doing the same thing, killing the same monsters, all at the same time.

But it's not.
Its Clair A+Leon B
or its Leon A+Clair B

They both having different experiences at slightly different times.

You don't know if Claire actually did anything though post CVx, as it says she's part of an NGO dealing with Bio terriorism victims.
From the looks of it, Claire immediately left while Leon was picked up by the Government post-RE2, its possible that besides the communication Claire gave him in CVx to find Chris, that they haven't seen each other since then.
I wouldn't have equated them to being old friends at all, they seemed total opposites forced to "work together" in order to get out alive.

I'd say he was probably being sarcastic more then anything, considering he developed a more dry-sarcastic humour in RE4, it makes sense he'd be sarcastic in the middle of battle to lighten the mood.

I knew a Canadian Leon-Scott Johnson at uni.
I don't see the problem with his name, some people just have names like that, Mines Ciarán John, don't bother using the John though, but i'll write my name as Ciarán J. *insert rest of name* on letters like he emphasises the S in his name, its not really that big a deal.

Well, this film is supposed to explore what has been going on in the 7 years since Racoon City, so I imagine it will definitely explain what Claire and Leon have been doing (and reference their respective exploits in RECV and RE4), since they are the main characters in Degen.

I don't know if they're close friends, but I imagine the dire scenario in RE2 that thrust them together would give them some sort of significant friendship.

Didn't seem that way in the RE3 Epilogue file for Claire to be honest.
Seemed like Leon just told her to get going as she needed to find her brother, which she did without waiting for medical attention for Sherry who was in her care or Leon to arrive.
