My thoughts -

The creature at the end of the trailer looks like something out of "Monsters Inc" and is not one bit scary. What is it with mutations and giant eyeballs??!! That's been going on since Birkin...and seriously subtracts from the terror quotient.

I like how Leon HAS to say "Leon S. Kennedy" when asked who the hell he is. WHO says their full name with middle initial except for that smug jack@$$...

And the other thing - I love how the trailer shows the one military dude toss his hands up in the air after Leon says that. That dude's reaction mimicked my own..."oh jeez, this Leon S Kennedy guy seems like a real douchebag!"

Final thought - Claire's CGI model looks FUGLY.

What a stupid, stupid line. I see why this guy is horrible with women.

And why didn't he cut off the emo-fop? It actually looks worse. What an utter tool Leon has become...no surprise, the producer from RE4 had a similar role in the production of this film.

The decent Leon from RE2 died a long time ago...I'm surprised Claire recognizes who this guy is anymore.

I think the Degeneration Trailer looks awesome.
Maybe the first good - very good Resident Evil Movie.
That they have chosen Leon and Claire for the Trailer
or even the whole movie, is great.
I can't understand that you don't like the Leon from RE4.
Okay he's also cool in RE2, but his voice... Anyway I prefer

You know... if Resident Evil ever comes down to just having a single line in an entire game or movie I'd say "Try not to be killed" is a pretty good candidate. Pretty much sums up what survival horror is all about.

Well, the way I look at it is this: It's got to be better than anything Anderson could ever make. It should be a pleasant fair well to the old school RE...cheesy ass lines, strange mutant creatures with big eyes and and aiming for the head of zombies. And, from what I saw, Leon hogging the spotlight.

It makes me all sentimental.

In RE2, Leon was naive, innocent, and just a normal guy who was placed in an extraordinary situation.

Since then, he has become some superhumanly agile ninja, with an emo foppish haircut, nerves of steel, and really, really bad dialogue. And that was just RE4. In Degen he's now an uber cool cyborg from the future who does parkour over and under pipes while delivering monosyllabic phrases and looking ruggedly *determined* in every facial shot.

All kneel before Leon S Kennedy, heir to the global throne. He will thumbwrestle and defeat Wesker for title of supreme being of the universe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bet Leon could slap away an airborne missile like Tyrant sometimes does in RE1.

It seems that you didn't realise his training and that the time went
on between RE3 and 4. He became stronger. Okay it's not realistically
that he kills an entire army of Ganados. But you also have to remember
what he did in all the time. Training strengthens your will.
Maybe he's a little bit to strongt, but shall he show fear
against guys like Saddler or Krauser? Sure it's dangerous but, fear
makes him weak. And that's the last thing he needs.

Sure, time passed, but it was what...5 years? In that time he lost the ability to feel fear, developed previously unseen gymnastic abilities (though it's scientifically proven that adults are less likely to learn or develop skills later in life), and he learned how to sword-fight with a hunting knife.

Um, I call your bluff.

Government agents would likely spend time studying rules & regulations, domestic and international laws, investigation skills, and maybe participating in basic hand-to-hand combat. They'd also spend lots of time on a firing range with a handgun and maybe a semi-automatic rifle.

But I guess Leon also got sword-fighting 101; judo, aikido, jujitsu, and gymnastics training; proficiency training in all NATO-Warsaw weaponry; bravery 101; and also personal lessons from Arnold Schwarzenegger on quips and one-liners.

I don't see the appeal of this guy. RE4 Leon is so unbelievable that his popularity defies logic. There's no characterization. He's just some paper-thin hero that is so uber-cool that he never breaks a sweat. Plus, he's got Ashley swooning over him while he pines for Ada (and after striking out with her, he turns his charm on Hunnigan). The RE4 producers wanted to make him so cool that they actually made him into a joke.

But the younger gamers, brought up on such drek as "XXX" or "Fast and the Furious" ate up the lamewad hero with the emo hair (the foppish bangs which drop down over his face).

I despise Leon so much, that playing as him detracts from a fun game experience. RE2 Leon was pretty good, and easy to relate to, IMO. But in 5 years the guy disappeared and turned into a complete and utter douche.

I know he has lots of fans out there, and y'all are entitled to your opinions just as I am entitled to my own. I utterly hate RE4+ Leon. And so far, "Degeneration" Leon looks like a jack@$$ to the second power.

I already said that he may be to powerful at some places.
And yes it's also strange that he can use every weapon.
Okay, it makes him look a little... unreal. But why the hell
are you disturbing him like that? バイオハザード4 is a complete
Action Game. バイオハザード1,2 & 3 are not. And that's the point.
Could you play the current Resident Evil 4 without having other
weapons than the Handgun, the Shotgun and the Rifle?
I bet you could hardly play through it. And what would you do
without all the tunings? Okay there are guys who play
through it only with knife, but those are professionals in this game.
Without this unrealistic abilitys of Leon the game wouldn't
be possible to play for beginners. That's the point.

Maybe Leon is no longer realistic in this game, but would you like
him without all his weapons? Without all his moves? If they would
have made him realistic in this game, the easy mode would have
been the now as normal known mode, cause it's just too hard
for some people who are no hardcore player.

But I brought it up because his presence alone (and he's featured quite prominently in the trailer) soured the second trailer released today.

It's good to see Claire again, though she's not looking as cute as before. Hopefully she'll retain her charm and not do any more superhuman antics like she did in the opening cinematic for RECV.
