This is the only translation I could find...
Famitsu: What are you currently doing as of right now concerning future projects?
Shinji Mikami: I am working with Clover right now on [movie-based] game. It is for NCL Wii. Currently have none release date or details can speak of.
Famitsu: Do you have anything to do with Biohazard 5, consider that Biohazard 4 was a masterpiece by all critique?
SM: I am not personally working on Biohazard 5 in directors seat once more. I had very descriptive layout of Biohazard 5 before production. To my knowledge, Capcom is following that directly.
Famitsu: How do you relate PlayStation3, and Nintendo Wii into plans? Any plan to produce for Xbox360?
SM: Here at Clover [we] are not focused in PlayStation3 produce or Xbox360. For the moment we are only focused on NCL produce.
Famitsu: Can we get an ideal of what your new game will be?
SM: It will be a type of horror thematic based on a western movie. At this moment that is all I can say.
Famitsu: We got information that your team was one of first to received final SDK. What is your impression of what the Wii can produce?
SM: Wii in final form should be closed to Xbox360. From development side we are quite impressed with physics simulations include in Wii, texture also. Wii will feature much more RAM and cache than Xbox 360 and PlayStation3. I am not in position to discuss more though.
Famitsu: What was your reaction to Capcom deciding to port Biohazard 4 to PlayStation2 against you? Did this urge you not to produce Biohazard 5, is that the reason you are not director.
SM: Atrocity; and no comment.
Famitsu: To western audience how do Wii controllers caught on?
SM: It doesn’t really matter, that innovation will breed itself. And generation after next will see all motion sensation interfaces.
Famitsu: Will Biohazard 5 appear on Wii, and what is in store for the Biohazard exclusive for Wii?
SM: Yes, Biohazard 5 will appear on Wii. Although I will let Capcom make that official. The exclusive will retain similar gameplay elements of Biohazard but will take consideration to Wii controller. [Biohazard 5 will not] but this exclusive will feature Albert Wesker as main character during events in and after Biohazard 4. We are also planning for second quarter Wii titles a ultimate remake of Biohazard 4 for Wii. With much heavy content than even PS2 version and will pay much tribute to Wii controls..
Famitsu: Why implement Albert as main protag?
SM: Albert is definite fan favorite as well one of mine. He is very fun to form a dialogue around and can be unpredictable.
Famitsu: Last question, what will you be playing next year, and what do you imagine needs remaking?
SM: I will be playing Virtua Fighter 5 and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
In regards to the answer to the second question it sounds great that Mikami laid a foundation to follow for RE5. Even from the earliest screenshots it showed Chris in the african environment so here's hoping it hasn't been changed too much from he's original vision. Some interesting information regarding the Wesker spinoff aswell...maybe this morphed into Umbrella Chronicles which did start as a RE4 style game.
