On a serious Note: Capcom has decided to go in a new direction. Some of us fans will be happy, some not. Fortunately, I am one of those happy fans, Do NOT bother me because you are hurt and sad that Capcom got rid of that piece of shit game play. Mikami was behind the production of RE1, 2, 3, CV, and 4. It is his vision that guided the series where it is today. So, like it or not, it is where we are at. The series definitely started becoming more action-oriented with RE3.

I don't mind the "survival action" angle, though I won't denounce the older titles like beasley did with his posts. I still enjoy playing RE1 and RE2. REmake is actually my favorite game in the series.

The game change - the "shift to action," if you will - was necessary to ensure the survival of the series. Today's gamers are more about faster pacing, and quick game play. So the RE series has tried to adapt itself to what sells. Not what classic RE fans want, but I understand Capcom's motives (money, of course). Though people curse Capcom as a greedy entity, the truth is, that business (hell, the world) runs on it.

For me, zombies still have a lot of appeal. They are the coolest enemy, as they signify a "horror" game. I think, if done right, they can still be relevant enemies. Look at the first trailer for RE5. The one that featured Chris in a blue uniform. He was being pursued by sprinting zombies (ala "Dawn of the Dead" remake). Or the RE Pachinko trailer, where the zombies appear a little faster. Heck, Crimson Heads are the ultimate zombie threat.

I still have high hopes for RE5. The RE4 formula can work, as long as Capcom keeps RE true to its roots. Keep the storyline relevant. Tie up some loose ends. A strong story and likable characters, coupled with the RE4 gameplay, is a winner in my book.

Also, keep Chris true to his character (high moral kind of guy, very heroic, single minded). Sure he's buffed up, but it is kind of necessary considering he needs any kind of edge he can get versus a superhuman foe like Wesker.

And yes - limit the ninja flips and such. No more laser room somersaults. No more laughable dialogue (unless it is the original RE1). Actually, RE1 dialogue is better than most RE4 dialogue. Sad but true.

I agree to that. But there won't be zombies, that's the point that keeps me worried. If RE5 sticks to RE4's formula, which is 100% possible, there'll be more backflips and ridiculous aka Alice" style movements.
I wish they would have put zombies in RE4 instead of those horrorless enemies, I can't stand the ganados whole thing... it's so sad that it drives me mad... I remember seeing the first trailer too, those zombies were GREAT indeed... too bad they are now sticking to the ganados formula instead of a good amount of crazy zombies running...

As I said, I have a book which explains about the whole RE series and it's Mikami's fault, he wasn't forced by Capcom, he really wanted RE to go this way. He said he wasn't happy with RE2 and RE3. And that RE1 wasn't his original plot story, he wanted a game about ghosts and deadly almost supernatural traps. Like it or not, he's now enjoying all the money that RE4 made.

In addition, I also HATE the new story plot of a Plaga, that's not funny if you ask me. RE4 was a great game, I'm mean graphically was awesome, was brilliant and with a gameplay where you can get used to it, but it lacked from RE elements... that's a bigletdown cuz while you're playing you forget for a moment that it is supposed to be a RE game.

I honesty won't get my hopes up with RE5.

Are you even old enough to drive? Your thought processes and "well-crafted" responses indicate that you are either (a) very young, (b) an immature adult, or (c) very poor at counter-arguments.

RE4 is a cliche filled, light-on-story, quick paced action-fest that is perfectly suited to your simplistic mind.

Oh yeah, one more thing. At least Capcom was being original with the pre-RE4 gameplay. PS1s can't handle RE4 graphics, you know, but at least they managed to get detailed graphics into the pre-RE4 games.

OH GOD...WOW, such judgment against someone. Can you give me the quote when I said that all PRE-re4 games were crap? PLEASE! Because as a HUGE fan of RE:CVX, that surely wouldn't have come out of my mouth. And then you go on to say that RE:4 was my first game...All I can do now is sigh and shake my head. I WOULD BET THAT I KNOW MORE ABOUT THE SERIES THAN YOU WOULD EVER KNOW! So what it's now impossible to for someone who have played all the PRE-4 games to take RE:4 seriously. This clearly proves my point about how many RE:4 Haters are very close minded.
