    Resident Evil for N-Gage
Published by ikona on September 17th, 2008 in News, Resident Evil Degeneration

Nokia and Capcom are teaming up to bring a new game in the storied Resident Evil franchise to the N-Gage platform.

With gameplay optimized for N-Gage, including two separate play modes, plus multiple mission types and 3D quality graphics, Resident Evil Degeneration is a cutting edge title that illustrates the unique capabilities of the N-Gage platform.

The game, part-based on the upcoming October theatrical release in Japan full-length CG motion picture of the same name, focuses on the release of a deadly virus by a terrorist at a US airport and follows series favourites Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, as they attempt to destroy the virus and prevent it from being dispersed across the country.

Resident Evil Degeneration is the first full-length CG motion picture from the Resident Evil series, widely considered to be the benchmark of the survival horror video game genre.

The N-Gage game will be released later this year. Full press release here.

Looks like tehy are using the RE4 mobile edition engine.

Booooooooo. Nokia sucks balls for stealing SNAP away from Capcom and thus taking away the online part of Outbreak (hosted on SNAP servers).

                  N-Gage isn't a phone anymore.

It's just like, 'video game software' they stuff into newer Nokia phones (despite there being a lot of good games that don't require you to 'run N-gage')

Well as it looks like... with RE5 then the PSP is the only platform that doesn't get a resident evil game/port/remake so I have high hopes

So, JC, let me get this straight:

Newer Nokia phones support N-Gage software?

Basically, you have to go and download the 'N-Gage' application. The actual application itself is free (so I don't know why the one that came with my phone is some 'trial version'). You need to load the application before you can play the games.

The actual games themselves cost money. The difference is that some of the games are in 3d. I think you download them off the site (not sure, since I never bought any 'N-gage' games yet). If you find their official site you can find a list of available games.

Also, there's no cartridge slots (well at least on my phone, but I don't see why they would include support for a discontinued system), so you can't play old N-gage games on it.

I'm pretty sure it's only for games (I never had the original N-Gage, so if there were any apps you can put on there, I don't think it'll work on these phones).
