or do a run where you stock up on ammo, shotgun shells specifically, then go nuts in the next run.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you about handgun D. It usually takes about 4 shots to kill a zombie, or half a clip. It also takes ages to reload. Same with handgun B (my personal favourite). Takes usually about 1/3 to 1/2 of a clip to kill a zombie, and takes longer than usual to reload. No, I don't think that's the solution.

Also, the save I've been using has got massive amounts of shotgun shells (250+). I don't save after running for an S but getting an A, as I don't want to have wasted all those shotty shells for nothing. So I've really just been using the shotgun on everything except Mr. Xs and Hypnos (which I use grenades on).

Helegad, that last run you did should have done it. By my calculations you scored 452 points. You need between 451-500 to get the S rank.
Unless you used a first aid spray. That's -20 points for each one.
The only other way you missed it, would be if it uses the total hit average instead of the single game hit ave. I'm not sure.
You should also note that 60mins is 100 points. 45mins is still only 100 points. So you could have spent 15mins more shooting stuff. It's only when you go over time that you loose points: 61mins is 99 points etc.

You don't need all the files, guns, paths, or a number of kills for S rank. This I know for sure. And you only need the S rank to get the Rocket Launcher, not the S rank + more.
