Sadly, I think Capcom are going to kill Wesker off in Resident Evil 5. He's one of my favourite characters, but the more that is said about this game, the more I think his end is nigh...
- Weskers voice actor mentioned that in an interview that he had to do a second version of the voice for a scene where Wesker transforms...
...sound like a boss fight to me!
- Capcom keep stating that this game will wrap up one of the biggest storylines of the series, whilst also stating that they do not mean that of the Umbrella Corp...
...the only other series spanning storyline I can really think of is the feud between Chris and Wesker!
- Capcom have stated several times the importance of Code Veronica in relation to 5...
..."next time we meet, don't count on another!"
Well, on top of all this, the newly release trailer has a scene where Wesker is convulsing in front of Chris and Sheva as Excella looks on from above (2:41 in gamevideos watermarked version). Seems to back up talk of a transformation, and the idea of a boss fight. And how many boss battles in a game like this see the villain live afterwards? Coupled with the scene where Excella is practically seducing Wesker, and the African BSAA squad talk of a setup, could Capcom be positioning her to be the series' new main villain!?
One scene shows Excella speaking with Chris and Sheva, another has her joinging Wesker, then one with her observing a transformation/battle!
It appears that Chris and Wesker fight on multiple occassions in this game (in a castle, a lab, and a train/plane). Could this simply be to at least send Wesker out with a bang? Give him some kick ass scenes so at least us fans can't moan too much about him being bumped off easily?
Would be a downer in a lot of ways, but i'm fairly sure Weskers days are numbered...

Oh, and all this talk of Jill being brain washed or the like. That's my assumption to, but one thing to note is that in the extended trailers battle between Chris and Wesker, in the castle, there's a flash of Jill's tombstone there to...backs up the idea of Wesker having 'killed' her.
EDIT : I think this will be a case that Excellas father was in competition with Umbrella, both having started in Africa. With Excella knowing this, she sides with Wesker in hope of finally discovering the location of Umbrellas initial base, so that she can steal the work for herself. Puppeteering up a BSAA operation would simply force things in to play. Perhaps, and yes i'm really rolling on a mad line of thought her, ADA could be the bird woman as some originally predicted, with Excella's organisation being the one ADA alludes to in RE4 (Organisation S)!?
