I feel Wesker's essentially done all he can for the series. I mean...what? He survives to go collect yet more viral samples? Be an even bigger prick? Maybe punch Chris' shotgun wielding grandma?

There's nothing really left for Wesker to do. I feel his death could serve as a catalyst to take the story off in new an interesting directions. As long as Wesker lives they can't really do much.

I think Wesker will most surtenly die in this game, it just looks to logic to me. And since co-op is so important in this game, there will be no Chris vs Wesker FINAL showdown. There will be Chris and Sheva vs Wesker FINAL showdown, only with her help Wesker will be defeated, remeber the final battle in The Mummy 3 and you will know what I'am talking about. And I don't like it.

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing Excella becoming the new Wesker. Get her exposed to SOMETHING, similar to Wesker, and she has a lot of knowledge from the information we know. We need a femme fatale running things, since Ada is no where to be seen and was the higher power over everyone in RE4 at least.

disregard this... it was written in that 'leaked article' that popped up here some time ago (the one with chris shaving sheva's ass) which most likely is fake.

              sorry about that

I agree. When I initially saw her, I thought that she wouldn't last five minutes. That she would be discarded as a throwaway character, for the sole purpose of boosting Wesker's ego and perpetuating his colossal fanbase. However, she's really come into her own as a character. She's intelligent, devious and manipulative, and I think she might very well have just what it takes to carry on the mantle from Wesker. That said, I do like her attempts at manipulating Wesker, making good use of her natural allure and appearance.

Truth be told, I hope she succeeds.

Excella is probably going to take over as my favourite evil character in the series. Ada was my favourite but I don't think she's anywhere near as evil as Excella will be.

Intelligent, manipulative and devious - how I like my women! =D I just hope she doesn't eventually grow some morals and jump in to save Chris or something and be killed in the process. =/

I really hope Capcom doesn't just get rid of all the introduced characters like that did with Resident Evil 4. TriCell should become the new Umbrella, if the series were to go on. At least then it'll be just like the old days but reimagined. It'd leave things open too, since TriCell has several different branches, with Excella being leader of the African branch. They could easily bring in new characters or perhaps even bring in some kind of plot twist that Excella is working under Ada (though I can't see Ada as a corporate leader in the same vein as Wesker - she's way too independent).

I'm looking into it way too much >_>

On another note, I do wonder if TriCell was the actual name of 'S', mentioned in RE4.

The 1Up Yours podcast hinted at a third possible corporation in Degeneration that has been performing bioweaponry experiments. Maybe that one is "S"?

RE4 bridging further more to Degeneration, which in turn bridges more to RE5.

It would be nice if we could look back in the future on RE4's story as actually having an important place in the Resident Evil universe.

QUICK!! SOMEONE MENTIONED RE4!! CALL LEON GAY!!

you know what, RE4 vanilla didn't have much of a story, ada's scenario however had a proper and better story and it did something that actually fit the resident evil series.

so yeah, that pretty much makes leon's game/story gay, since he didn't contribute anything besides cheesy one liner's. Thank Ada for anything good that came out of RE4

That's the point i'm making the though. It would be nice if something out of Leon's story in RE4 is actually important in the grand scheme of things in a few years time.

I don't think it will be, but it'd be nice if there was more to Mendes, Salazar and Saddler than one game bullet fodder. The fact that Ada has a sample now will at least mean they have some sort of legacy to the series, would be nicer if it turns out to have been something more substantial.

Leon did mention "the kennedy report" .. that's gotta be worth something right ? good to know that leon was forced to write a report on his lengthy ordeal after wards.

When you look at what goes on outside the main narrative, RE4 actually has a very deep plot. Forget about Leon's perspective, and the Illuminados cult, etc. Focus on what was happening behind the scenes, with Ada and Wesker. Just look at Ada's Report, in fact. Umbrella had collapsed, Wesker has been trying to create his own version of Umbrella, etc. You've also got Krauser, who mentions something about "Umbrella's sake". His conversation with Leon is quite interesting too, when he talks about bringing order to the world.

That's what makes Los Illuminados so insignificant in the end, because the story wasn't about them, they were just there as a placeholder for the game, so that this backstory could be played out in the background without having to bring Wesker and friends in as main antagonists. Sure, Saddler had his plan, about kidnapping the President's daughter, but all of that was meaningless compared to what was going on in the scenery. That's the problem that people have, they only look at RE4 at face value and in doing so they neglect to look between the lines and figure out what else was going on. Forget about Saddler, he's just a placeholder. Think about Ada, Krauser and Wesker.

I'm sure the name was mentioned on the Degeneration website, anyone mind checking up on this?
