RE5 : Weskers death

Every game now seems to be about sacrificing other characters for the benefit of the most popular character, to applease the fanbase. So I doubt they'll kill Wesker off, seeing as they'll lose 80% of his followers - rabid fangirls. If it isn't Wesker, it's Leon. Of course, I attribute all of this to our superficial natures and seeing a character's appearance as the only aspect that matters. Who cares if they have character or personality, people don't want to see that. They want to see something "EXTREME" and "EPIC", with fancy special moves and "AWESOME WIN", like Wesker's teleportation shenanigans or Leon's government special agent skills in Resident Evil 4.
That said, that's what I like about Chris "Treetrunk Arms" Redfield. Steroids aside, he's the most human of all the protagonists. He isn't some cocky one-liner hero in RE5, he's a very jaded, tired man. He's lost a lot of good friends, and if rumours are to be believed, his old partner. Umbrella's finished, but it's not over yet. I like the chemistry between Chris and Sheva, though I imagine that being around her, reminds Chris of being with Jill.
To keep this relevant, I will say yes - Wesker must die. Must an end to his madness and give a humble two fingers up at the fangirls.See you in hell.

Well said, Spencer. Well said, indeed. "I'd buy that for a dollar!"
I think that Chris lives solely to eradicate bio-terror from the world. He seems like the upstanding good-guy, who would sacrifice himself to save another. Which is why I can realistically see Jill's death drive him over the edge.
As for his increase in muscle mass - though I still prefer the character model in the very first RE5 trailer -well, I guess it is acceptable, if you consider the ass beating he took in RECV (and even to a non-powered Wesker in REmake...in one of the cutscenes in the Tyrant lab). Chris knows he needs to be in top physical form to possibly have a chance versus Wesker. And ESPECIALLY if Wesker was the one to kill Ms. Valentine, then Chris would realistically turn to weightlifting to focus his hatred, rather then grabbing some hooch and drinking himself into a stupor.
As much as I think Wesker is a kickass villain, I'd be fine if he died in RE5. How much longer can you really keep shuffling him back out there as the main bad guy? Besides, I feel that Chris deserves to be the one to kill Wesker. If I ever saw a Leon -vs- Wesker showdown (fangirl heads everywhere would explode ala "Scanners") I would throw myself off of a building. Well, unless Wesker ripped Leon's head from his body and punted it into the distance. That would be okay.Last edited by Jill's Boob; 10-10-2008, 02:53 PM.

when I saw RE, I always thought it should have taking place in the mansion.
none of that matters because the movie universe isn't the same as the game universe. They're just not related.Last edited by A-J; 10-10-2008, 03:39 PM.

Capcom said that this game will end a storyline since the first game. Which means, a new story will be brewed after this game. Does this mean that the series could potentially go past RE6? That being said, I guess it is possible that they will kill off Wesker at the end of the game, but then someone else would have to step in. And we still haven't seen Ada in this game, only a woman who looks like her, which I didn't care for either. She looks like she has Ada's personality, why do we need two Adas? Who knows, maybe Sherry will continue the story.
Watch. At the end of the game, Chris finally kills Wesker. Then in RE7, Wesker shows up in the middle of the game.
Chris: I thought I killed you back in RE5!!!!
Wesker: I injected myself with a virus before you killed me, making this twice that I did the same thing.
Haha talk about lame.
