Lol I'm not saying is the end of the series because of Jill. You're right, if she's dead, she's dead. I've heard that somewhere, that this game would be closing series' plot and that they will start a new story with new characters.

That's how I felt about GTA: Vice City Stories, but I still bought it, enjoyed it, and 100%ed it.

I forgot to ad that even if she is dead, it might not be the end for Jill.
They have already killed Wesker and Ada once before and they both made it back.
In a few years time, there might be a new RE. Jill will be back and there will be some sort of ridiculous explanation as to the events that see her survive. She'll be back and 'next time, it's personal!'

          one passably theory

i think what might happen jill's fake her death right so she join up with Excella/tricell undercover to bring down wesker , cause in the video she did offer to help him jill knows that she cant take down wesker alone, now she could
the the blackbird lady and maybe got some training too and jill could of been in that tube who knows??
i doubt that the blackbird lady is sherry i remember seeing a pic of chris hold a blonde chick in red dress and popping out of a door in a video one of the old videos ,if that's spencer he probley get his revenge on wesker
im not sure about the crazy guy with the suit , now Wesker did say something his " your old partner should be here, ill let you too catch up!" now that could only be 2 people jill or barry unless wesker knew what was going on
when did jill join the B.A.S.S? is it a set up? or fake what Excella plains i know the video is making her the Bad guy ? is she and jill working together to help undercover how is it that blackbird lady with her ?

RE series has been dead since RE4 and I dare to say since REUC
If the series has been dead since 4 then that would kind of include Umbrella Chronicles. I mean, that game a good couple of years later... [/teasing]

Anywho, I applaude Capcom for trying to bring the series back in line with the original storylines and characters. Whatever happens to past characters, at least they seem to be trying to include quite a lot of them. I mean, tot he average fan, they wont have seen or heard of Weskers report, so the idea of characters such as Sherry returning is pretty cool.

When characters aren't seen or heard of again then they basically are dead. Yeah, it might be nice to think to yourself "ooo, they may return in the sequel" but hearing of a demise as opposed to nothing is at least the better fan service. Also, in a series tied around a virus that can bring the dead back to life, it's hard to believe that anyone is ever really dead.

As mentioned, the tombstone is to get people talking.

Jill may show up alive in the game, she may not. If she's dead, there's some pretty powerful drama that could come from it. Likewise, who's to say that come RE8 she's not leather clad and lizard eyed?

Games are entertainment. Such twists are great in that they give you further entertainment both before and after you even get to experience the game.

It's interesting reading [most] of the theories and thoughts on these boards. Not bad value from a product that i'm not even able to purchase yet.

I think it's also worth keeping in mind that whilst some are disgusted with the idea of a possible Jill death, what's to say that she couldn't be given some heroic send off? Some characters are defined in death, moreso than living.

If it turns out Jill sacrificed herself so that others could escape, knowing that what she was doing would lead to the fall of Umbrella/finding the location of Wesker, wouldn't that make you feel even more for the character...or would you rather she stayed famous purely for wearing mini skirts during zombie massacres, and being the master of unlocking?

If you wanna bitch about everything, then go and join a neighbourhood community club thingo. Otherwise, just stay out of topics that you can't contribute anything useful to.

                  Fair enough. Reported.

I've contributed more than enough to the thread already, long before you decided to stick your nose in just to get a rise out of me.

We're not still talking about Jill's alleged "death", are we?

CONTRIBUTED? WHAT IN HELL HAVE YOU CONTRIBUTED? NOTHING! EXCEPT FOR STUPID COMMENTS ABOUT HOW PEOPLE'S THEORIES ARE USELESS, AND SHOULD ALL BE MERGED INTO ONE TOPIC THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SUBJECT MATTER!

All I've got to say is that I hope that Jill is actually dead, not because of the inane fan reaction, but because of the fact that this is Resident Evil. Characters need to die. They introduce new characters with each game and then either forget about them or keep bringing them back somehow. If this is a game about survival horror, and how it's a struggle to survive and all that, then surely it would have greater impact and meaning if even the main protagonists couldn't survive.

Jill's demise would also serve as a wonderful catalyst for Chris, to drive him on. He's a very jaded man at this point it seems. I get the impression that he's losing faith in stopping bioweapons, yet his desire to take vengeance on Wesker still burns with resolve, and I love it. I'll be rooting for Chris when the time comes for him to engage Wesker, and despite his significant disadvantages, I hope that somehow he pulls through and kills Wesker. The man has hurt everyone close to Chris - Sheva, Jill, the other S.T.A.R.S. members. Let's not forget about Forest either, he was a training partner with Chris. He's doing this for his fallen comrades, not just Jill. Only reason we're seeing Jill that much is that she was closest to him, and therefore is a physical representation of the pain and suffering that Wesker had put him through.

But yeah, Jill has to be actually dead. No fancy tricks.
                          See you in hell.

I've gotta agree with you there. It would be more interesting and emotional. Problem is...this is Capcom, the place where character development is a dirty phrase. I honestly don't think they have it in them to kill off a main character like this, not even in flashbacks and such. No matter how cool. They seem to wanna really work on the story this time, which is awesome, but I don't think this will happen.

I think, best case, she's a B.O.W you have to put out of her misery and then go on to kill Wesker for what he did. Worst case is she faked her death to infiltrate the bad folk or something.

It would be refreshing if Jill is just straight up dead. No tricks. Just dead. Not reanimated. Just dead. All i would ask is that we're allowed to play it in a Chris/Jill co-op flashback up against a bunch of zombies.

This has nothing to do with me thinking she's far from the series' most valuable commodity, just because (as said above) characters have to die, and it makes a major statement that Capcom would take Jill out. Sure, i don't like her, but a lot of people do and killing her off would be a major occurence for the game.

                              Bye Jilly!

I'd rather see her dead than being a BOW. And that's true some people are useless enough to live and deserve to die... poor them... I feel pity for them. I think God's been generous.
