I always figured it was a bad translation. Because she's obviously not scared when he discovers her and Richard in the hallway.

    As for the awkward:

    Rebecca: "You."

    Chris: "Chris Redfield. Alpha Team."

That exchange in REUC is just...bleh.

I don't remember what Chris says exactly in the PS1 or REmake versions.

Well, I am pretty sure Chris is not the one Wesker is speaking to concerning the sentence of the thread topic.

Chris -vs- Wesker in RE1, RECV.

Wesker encountered Chris & Jill in Russia (according to the REUC manga - which I don't know if it is canon or not).

Yeah the manga should be canon, it lead directly into the "canon but plothole creating" Umbrella Chronicles.

Well, it led into the "Fall of Umbrella" scenario, which didn't really do much damage to the RE mythos. I felt it was a decent, if underwhelming addition.

Especially since Wesker never actually interacted with Chris or Jill in the game scenario.

Really? They never even crossed paths?!

I've only played the 0, 1 and 3 portions of UC so i wasn't aware of that!

Nope, there was no big showdown between Chris & Jill and Wesker. (Besides what you got in the RE1 scenario.)

It was disappointing to me, as I have waited for another Chris -vs- Wesker battle royale since the end of RECVX.

So, needless to say, the bits of RE5 shown in the last few days have me very excited.

REUC is a fun, albeit quick & mindless excursion through the RE history (well, some of it).

I felt the Richard & Rebecca scenarios, the HUNK mission, and the Ada mission were all noteworthy additions. Along with the Wesker missions and "Fall of Umbrella." Things could have been more fleshed out, and more answers provided, but on the whole I don't hate REUC as much as most people.

I really like UC, one of my favourite games on the Wii, a great addition to the series i thought. But yeah, we're well off-topic now haha

I think we need a poll!

Not completely off topic, per se, since it still somewhat relates to Wesker's encounters with others.

But back on topic: I say Wesker is speaking to Excella, having met her when she was a teenager touring the Spencer Estate & Labs with her father back in the mid 90s. Excella isn't necessarily looking at him as she doesn't know what a threat he is, then sicks her bodyguard on him only to have Wesker easily dispense with the person, who he walks over to and mockingly says "Poor performance, indeed."

*Of course, this contradicts my ideas that Wesker has turned Sherry and/or Jill over to Excella for experimentation. (Since I believe that Jill or Sherry is the Mystery Woman.)

Wesker is talking to Birdwoman, and Birdwoman is Jill.

Excella and Wesker know each other, becasue he gave her information and sasmples of T virus.

Excella says to Wesker "You need a partner for your....". Well. That partner is Birdwoman.

Considering that Ozwell E. Spencer is of English nobility, I suppose that there's always a chance that the "estate" to which Wesker refers might not be the one located in the Arklay Mountains. Just a thought...

More than one Spencer Estate? Wouldn't make sense to make that known now would it?

I admit that it's a bit of a reach, Big Stu, but the scenes involving who we now believe to be Spencer appear to take place in a castle-like setting. Perhaps this is a flashback, and the line we are discussing takes place later on in the game.

Considering Spencer is not confirmed maybe the old man is Excella's father and Wesker met him at the Spencer manison. Then again why would rival companys be meeting together unless the owners were friends.

This is exactly why they included that line in the trailer; for us to go wild with rampant speculation.
