    Well back on topic ¬¬
Capcom just did it, somehow Jill became less relevant to the story. Any trace of importance to Jill's specific storyline is eradicated by UC. It goes almost perfectly by Chris' story minus the fact that Jill tags along in his shadow. There is no mention of Barry during gameplay and therefore no character development for Jill. Plus, Wesker (the main antagonist and most important character in the RE universe) relegates Jill to position as Chris' lackey. He mentions her maybe once by name. The rest of his monologues are centered around Chris and his exploits.
In Raccoon's Chapter Jill no longer gets infected and therefore has no immunity to the T-virus. She is demoted from one-woman-army to lackey once again as Carlos starts to take center stage. He helps her with everything and even saves her life in the ridiculous opening cinema. In the first encounter with Nemesis, it's Carlos who gets the idea to blow up the explosives and escape from Nemmy. Later she isn't even the one to truly kill Nemesis as Carlos does a lot of the work for her.

Capcom didn't just flat-out say that Jill is no longer a main character, they just started to quietly and cleanly mover her away from the spotlight in favor of the males. They are pretty much destroying Jill's original status as a badass.

There was no character development for any of the characters really in the 2-player modes. Except for maybe Richard, whose personality was never before explored.

On the other hand, REUC did primarily explore Wesker's character. And, to a lesser extent, Hunk and Ada (who also got their own single-player missions).

I think you're going overboard with your belief that Jill is somehow being de-valued.

Wesker hates Chris. Capcom condensed much of the RE universe to make it fit into REUC, and, in setting up for the showdown in RE5, focused on the hatred Wesker has for Chris. Even regarding the established canon, Wesker hates Chris more than anyone else, including Barry & Jill.

Jill's got her tombstone, possibly a dramatic death at the hands of Wesker (maybe even a starring role as Mystery Woman), and a lot of discussion going on about her at the moment. I don't see how you can be so distressed over it.

Be calm my friend. In the immortal words of Douglas Quaid: "Relax, you'll live longer."

I know that posting this I might be like so distressed, I was just re-playing UC and noticed that if that game is supposed to be canon then Jill is so side-kicked cause she seemed useless. But I'm not talking about her death in RE5, and if she's dead, she is dead. Since I can't make a thread as I promised, I'm just putting some thoughts about REUC game that ruined her status of bad ass. ;)

I never got that impression from REUC. She was featured in that game more than any other character (except maybe Wesker).

Just because she has a partner in every one of her levels hardly makes her "useless." Being able to survive the mansion, Racoon's destruction, AND the Russia factory all seem to indicate that she IS a "badass," don't you think?

As for Wesker focusing on Chris...well, that is nothing entirely new. That trait started in RECV.

Nicholai is one of my favourite characters in the series, yet there's a very slim chance that he'll ever make a return appearance. His survival, while personally believed to be canon, is still debated even to this day. Jill, on the other hand, has had a starring role in many games in the series - RE1, RE3, UC, etc. Speaking of UC, I think it's widely agreed by many that the main series takes priority over anything that UC throws at us - with the exception of what UC brings that's new, for example, Sergei Vladimir and friends.

There's nothing wrong with being a fan of a certain character, but it's when that fandom starts to border on obsession, that's when things "get a little kaka", as Sam Beckett would say. You should actually be grateful that Jill is such a popular and important character to the series. Look at like this, Nicholai or Barry won't be getting any action.
            See you in hell.

I'm not a fan of her, not obsessed. I'm just throwing thoughts because REUC gave me that impression and it's mainly a sum up of the series plot, and I felt curious about Jill's side-story and left being as she was an idiot. I think REUC was pathetic.

                @Boob
Yes she was featured in that game more than any other character but UC shows another side of RE3 and that side isn't the real one. Jill managed to survive Raccoon's disaster and she killed Nemesis a thousands of times and she throws a gun at a zombie's face? LOL!. I'm came up with the conclusion that REUC it's just a bad game, bad connection with each game and everything was so bad summed up.

I like Nicholai and Barry, I think RE3 is a great game. Barry should get a Next-Gen game, he's such a great character too. Nicholai was mentioned in RE Survivor, I'm not sure if that's canon, I can recall what it was about but i guess it was some kind of secret report of him.

At least we got something for Richard, with Umbrella Chronicles. He had a solid yet brief moment, but I'm glad he got it. Always had something of a soft spot for Richard, seeing as he was one of the few survivors of the mansion. Shame he couldn't leave with everyone else.

Barry's already been long forgotten by Capcom my friend.

Jill probably wont be axed unless it has a very valued reason (in Capcom's view anyway). Not only has Jill made many appearences in the RE games, but she's had cameos in several other of Capcom's games as well. Marvel vs Capcom, Wii Golf (or whatever the golf game was), a somewhat mention in Dead Rising, and some of the other little games have had sprite of her, often paired with Nemesis.

Also....why does Wesker speak of Chris more often than Jill?....I dunno...let's look at the fact that RE1 has two storylines going on at once, where one character is locked in a cell. If you were to combine the two stories, Barry locks Jill in the cell, Chris and Rebecca face Wesker, Barry somehow finds redemption, Chris saves Jill, all kill tyrant on helipad, all escape in happy copter with Brad.
Now fast forward to CV. Chris is the one that eventually meets up again with Wesker first. Why would the series mega villain be worried about a woman he's only had to deal with once when he's got Chris hounding him?
