Who said anything about screaming for attention? What i said is perfectly valid, you would start a thread if you wanted something to be noticed, or else you would throw it in an existing thread.

Now, don't get involved in something that doesn't concern you.

      Actually it is. =P

It's just that now instead of PAL and NTSC...you have 720/1080p/i at 50fps or 60fps depending on your region. Then there's the whole 480p and 576p issue. In the past 12 or so years, the only advancement we've made in the whole PAL/NTSC dilemma is moving it onto a progressive stage.

We're not out of that retarded age yet.

No black and white though. I suppose that's something. You're still gonna get screwed in some manner either way though.

I wasn't talking about anyone in particular, I know most people here will buy the game under legal circumstances once it's released. Justification is just something I hate when it comes to illegal downloading and since piracy was brought up I felt I had to throw in my 2 cents.

Oh, I think I see where the confusions coming from. I meant to exclude RE5 from the justification of piracy part but forgot. I edited it.

Big Stu, do you enjoy fighting? Cause I'm getting sick of it, and you start shit for no reason.

          I've reported you.

Bravo? I've made it clear what my reply meant, mods will see that. They can do what's necessary, i've no problem with that.

*Whistles* Yes, yes I can. And believe me the temptation to throw out bans is strong right now. Oh yes. In essence, I'll say this...no infractions for this thread but the next time you two start bitching at each other, for any reason, I will start punishing you. Because it's constantly you two fighting. You stopped for a while but now it's back and, guess what? It's going again.

It's like when you have checked out a demo for something you were waiting for and it turns out you weren't satisfied at all. Would it mean that you would spend 50-60 $ buying the game anyway?
Well isn't that the point of a demo, so people can try out the product and see if they'll like it? If companies wanted people to be blind-buying their products, then they wouldn't have released a demo in the first place.

Also, If I illegally download a product that I find that I don't like, wouldn't the next logical step for me to do would be to stop using it and dispose of it? No use just keeping it on my HDD. RE5 is not an exception.

If you choose to illegally download something, fine (or not), but don't try to justify it by saying you're broke, need the money for other/more important things, it's overpriced, you can't wait any longer, entertainment should be free (yes, I actually heard someone say that), etc.
You always have a choice, nobody forced you to take it up as a hobby.
Oh speak for yourself. Not everyone's as lucky enough to be living in a country where videogames are supported. I doubt my country (or region for that matter) is even included in (insert big gaming company here)'s annual sales report or what not. How 'bout they stop ignoring us and actually give us support first before they bitch that "Asia is pirating." Did they give us support when my first-gen PS2 broke down? No, they didn't. Will they give support if my XBOX360 gets RROD'd. No, they won't.

So it's OK to do things that are illegal because it makes your life easier? When doing the right thing is hard, do the wrong thing instead? Isn't that, essentially, the same justification a mugger has in robbing someone? It makes my life easier than working...and who gives a damn who gets hurt.

That's probably easy for you to say since you have your local Gamestop/EBGames/Wal-Mart/Best Buy for you to buy your games at retail price. I have to buy my original games online, pay for shipping, wait for it to arrive, and pay again at the post office about 20-30 USD worth of tax. But anyway, my point is if game companies actually do something about us gamers here in the backwaters, maybe there would be more of us who'd actually consider buying original games.

And just so you know, I do buy original games.

Yes, I was not arguing against demos. I was using the demo example to explain that people who choose to download games, in essence, are trying "demos" of those games. And if they don't like it, they certainly won't buy those games.

When it comes to the music industry, it's not necessarily the wrong thing. Music artists get huge publicity either way. Their income can also increase both ways. P2P is an excellent way of publishing the artists' works, and if people like it, they would certainly buy those works (albums) afterwards.

Another interesting thing some of you might have noticed, was that a couple of months ago a Swedish music artist (Timbuktu) actually used a piracy website for publicity of his album.

If by support you mean 90-100$ retail prices for games (coupled with relatively meagre salaries in general) and a "fuck you" attitude for console repairs then yes - videogames are supported in Hungary
(And I'm not even going to get into how incredibly overpriced everything else is over here.).

Believe me, I'm also in a postion where it's incredibly tempting to just flash/chip my consoles and burn every single game on a 1$ disc, but like I said before, nobody forced me to get into videogames, there are no laws stating that pursuing it -or any other hobby for that matter- is mandatory.

I agree that it's not fair, but that's life. I'm sure as hell glad that my biggest problem in it is having a tight budget for my hobby.

Seems like I didn't get the memo. Whoops

Big Stu and Helegad have been here long enough to know this kind of shit isn't acceptable. Helegad has an automatic 24 hour ban because of various actions over the past 10 days.

xD aha! that made my laugh. It's true though! they would be punished for it. I dont think it'll be leaked, plus its nearing it's time of release, even though that is still a good 4 or so months away.
