Whoa, I didn't think C:V would get so much love.

I was being serious...I didn't even remember save rooms in RE4. But I guess the typewriters counted as save rooms. That RE4 "save" theme is pretty good, but the more memorable songs from that game, to me, are: "Ganado II" and the final boss battle theme (which was excellent).

You can call it "RE4 bashing" if you want, but that game made the "save room" feature nonexistent. In previous games, I rejoiced when I discovered an actual save room...in RE4, I hardly ever felt the fear of dying - thus, the comfort & relief of a save room was drastically reduced.

      My personal ranking:

      1. RECV
      2. RE1
      3. RE2
      4. RE3
      5. RE4
      6. RE0

RE3's is the greatest. Bar-none. It brings one word to mind; hopeless. It's fitting for the series.

The others are like happy piano jingles.

RE2 or RE3, definitely. It's kind of a tie. RE2 is far more recognizable, though. Because it was remixed so many times.

Even though RE1 is my favorite game, the save room music in RE2 is classic(just like the whole soundtrack)and my favorite save theme. I wasn't a big fan of RE3 but it's save room theme is also very good. I think the reason why I like the RE2 and 3 save themes so much is because of the the dark room save that appears in both of them. That room has sticked with me the most out of all the save rooms because of the tragic reports you find there, with the music to match it perfectly.

I liked the save theme for that game.
Wait, which close minded person is bashing RE4? "Again"

You are so clever. The way that you work with subtlety is amazing.

I agree. I hadn't heard a few of them in awhile, so I listened to all of them today - thanks to this thread - and thus came up with my personal ranking. Though you can't go wrong with any of them. Save room themes are always a treat.

RE3 just inches out past RE2 in terms of my favorite. They are always great compositions though.

                          In order.
                          RE2
                          RE1
                          Zero
                          RE4
                          RE3
Veronica - Sounds like it belongs more to a results screen.

RE2's save room music kind of reminded me of the Nightmare on Elm Street theme. I mean, it wasn't sinister, but still, the piano treatment. It was fairly similar. Like, if you took the two melodies, and just played them side by side, someone who doesn't know better could easily assume that they're from the same movie, or game, or composer.

                                re4
                                re1

talking about similarities... that song from moth's room (RE2) always reminded me "the shining" soundtrack... it's really creepy
