  • I will buy RE5 because it is an RE game. Funny thing is, I don't want it to be part of the canon, but I WILL begrudgingly accept that it is part of the story and try to have fun with it like I did with 4 (once I got the hang of the controls ). However, I WILL NOT buy RE5 on a console. Only a PC version.

    That's my conditions.

    • I like almost all RE games, but in a different way
I love the classics cause they looks like a horror film and I like RE4 not as a RE,but as a cool game that makes part RE's story

The series wont be back to the classic style, only if RE5 sucks and Capcom doesnt make money
I really prefer playing new RE games than stop playing cause they changed a lot

      • I'm only buying RE5 once I've heard reviews, and if the things I think will suck do suck then I'm gonna wait a few months until it's nice and cheap.

And thanks, EX, that was...illuminating, even though I disagree with some points it gives me a better insightm into why some folk do like the movies. I always assumed it was just the violence and the occasional shot of Milla's private parts.

Oh please, I know that you're going to purchase RE5 as soon as it's released!
Umm... No, buddy. I don't know if you're one of those people who goes insulting Anderson, and then buys all the live-action movies on Blu-Ray. But I say I don't want anything to do with RE5, and I mean it. I happily got rid of my RE4 and UC, and never looked back.

Look, I'm not denying that RE5 is gonna be better than RE4. But I played Resident Evil for the storyline, and even if RE5 is scarier and a better game than RE4, I'm absolutely not interested in the storyline anymore. I don't care whether Jill is dead or alive. I don't care who the bird girl is, or about any of that other crap. But the existence of a character like the bird girl is proof enough that RE's new characters aren't going to be any more interesting than the ones in RE4. Either way, I'm really not interested in it.

And don't give me the 'here we go again'. People ask, so I answer them.

          • I do have to agree with Biohazard EX on some levels, guys.

It's not like Capcom can't do any wrong. I tried to play Gun Survivor 2 and just couldn't get through it! It was so stupid.

However, Gun Survivor 4 was really fun.

And yeah, its true that Resident Evil has gone in a different direction, and even though I don't mind, I don't think they can immediately turn around and make RE5 like the original games all of a sudden because they're too far down the road in another direction. Therefore, if you really don't like the direction that its gone in, like Biohazard EX, it does stand to reason that you won't continue with it.

The movies, well, let's face it; movie tickets AND dvds are far cheaper than games. Plus, there are no new consoles to buy which really jacks up the price of things. So if you can see the good parts of the movies and just relax and enjoy them, your investment has been better than spending possibly over a hundred dollars on a game that doesn't live up to your expectations. You risk losing even more if you buy the console.

So what I'm saying is hey, its ok to just like the games, its ok to just like the films. We're not stepping on each others backs by liking either or even both. If somebody has their expectations let down by something more than once, isn't it understandable that they're going to go spend their time and/or money on something else?

            • The thing is, this thread is titled, "First 8 Minutes of Degeneration". I've spent those 8 (10 actually) minutes, watching it. So I posted my opinion here. Sure, it might've spun into a heated debate, but that's notwithstanding the fact that I did watch those 10 minutes, and I've taken my right to comment on it.
When Degeneration is released to general public and there's a thread about the movie in its entirety, you're not gonna see me there.

              • I'm a huge Jill fan and if she is dead I will be mega gutted but I'm still gonna buy the game just to see what happens and same goes for the cgi film. Wether I like them or not I need to know what happens and so do you I say bull to any person on this forum who claims they wont watch the new film and play the new game.

Well, you can say bull, but how does that effect me? I honestly lost all interest. You say you need to know what happens... I don't. I really don't. I could not give an ounce of shit about whether Jill is dead or not, about who the bird girl is, about what will happen to Wesker in RE5. It does not interest me at all. You would not believe how little I care about where Capcom is gonna take the storyline. And that's the honest truth.

                  • I will play RE5 (can't wait), but I will NOT be watching "Degeneration." Leon irritates the $#!* out of me.

                      • I liked him when he was a rookie. That fit into the survival horror thing better...

And what's with him in the movie? Claire looks really nice, but Leon? I feel like somehow, if you poked him with a pin he'd just deflate... He looks that wrong.

Claire's lips are weird. I mean really weird. Like, if I was gonna watch the movie in its entirety, it would be one of those things that would bug me about it all the way through. And every time I'd watch a scene with Claire, I wouldn't be able to focus on anything else but her weird lip.

                          • Claire's lips look funny. Leon looks like he ate a bucket of ice-cream each night for a week. RE4 Leon looked slimmer.

                            • I'm going to watch it because Steve Blum is doing one of the voices. Best voice actor.

                              • Claire's lips don't bother me next to Leon's overall appearence. He just looks really weird all over.
