Frankly I'm surprised they actually kept Claire's voice actress consistent throughout the series. And not just replaced her with a 'non union California actress', like they did with Wesker.

      Y'know I have to say that Claire's voice actress is really good, but I have to laugh at Frederick Downing's voice... It's a bit cheesy. ^^;
He was CRISPIN FREEMAN which is and automatic +500 points in my books. He does do a pretty good accent.

I know, I LOVE Crispin Freeman, but it's just in the context... You know; the one sauvé well-dressed English gentleman who quite clearly has something off about him.

Coupled with the fact that he's surrounded by Americans, it makes his voice really stick out and I just have to laugh. Not even the British Royal High Commissioner speaks like that! XD

I still can't believe they replaced Richard Waugh with that twat D.C Douglas... Don't even get me started on that. Waugh is, and always will be, my Wesker voice. I dunno... Maybe they kept Alyson Court because her husband died and she's a single mother?

Give him a chance I think he sounds better already in the RE5 trailer clips than he did in Chronicles, Richard Waugh is overrated he sounded like shit in code veronica an his voice sounds kinda forced at times it also dips in and out to his normal voice at occasions 9-19 seconds he has his normal voice then he switches to Wesker lol http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=P14sk2ILOYE
If he had a brain, he'd be dangerous.

Ehh... True, he sounds much better... But I've always loved Waugh's voice. I don't believe Douglas is better because he makes the tone far too nasal for my taste.

Oh, you know who's voise I hate? That senator guy! I mean, yeah, its the right kind of voice for his character, but my god do I want to kill him! I'll be watching the movie with my my fingers twitching thinking 'PRESS X! PRESS X AND HE'LL DIE!'

Douglas has an annoying Wesker voice, even when he's not trying to immitate Waugh like he did in UC.
Waugh is a terrific actor, has a kick ass voice and was probably the best Wesker.

Considering he was the only consistent Wesker until this point, I'd like to think Capcom thought that too... And now they're just being jackasses.

Well, not that it matters anymore, since I've given up on the future of RE. I don't have to deal with Douglas.

Yeah... Well, good for you. I am going to suffer him a little longer.

I can't imagine how. But hey, it's your money.

Probably because some people prefer to be optimistic about things in life. They're the ones who don't end up missing out on good experiences. Also, they're usually the people who don't get dramatic when things don't turn out the way they wanted.

                          • You make it sound like I hated RE4 after seeing the first trailer for it. I forked out my cash for it, I gave it an honest chance, I was as positive as it gets about it. I was disappointed.
Believe me, I was just as positive with Umbrella Chronicles. I freaking bought a Wii for it! Again, I was let down.
Believe me, as far as I'm concerned, I gave them enough chances.
I gave Degeneration a fair 10 minutes, and it simply sucks. Just because I anticipated that it was going to suck, and my prediction came true, doesn't mean that I didn't give it a chance.
But you mention good experiences, and there's not one to be had of this movie, unless you're going to ridicule it all the way through, and as far as I'm concerned, that's a waste of a movie. I watch movies to enjoy them for what they were intended to be, not for what they turned out. And unless Degeneration was MEANT to be made fun of, and that was the whole appeal like, "We're making this movie... And it's going to be so bad that it's gonna be awesome."
Obviously that wasn't Capcom's goal. Because if it was, it would be as pathetic as pre-ripped jeans.

                            • You misinterpret my words. I am not suggesting you were always pessimistic about the series. I just think that maybe how you phrase what you think is a bit of a downer for everyone and maybe even a little unkind. I know we all have the right to express our opinions and you have done that. We all know you don't want to see Degeneration and truthfully, we couldn't care less if you do or don't, but you really don't need to keep saying things like 'fine, it's your loss' or 'it's your money' because when you do that, it makes people feel a little like you're implying that they're stupid for wanting to give it a chance. I just think that lots of people are looking forward to it and it would perhaps be nice if you would let them enjoy their anticipation without those kinds of comments. I quite enjoy talking to you because it's quite educational to hear a completely differing opinion from your own, but I'm wondering if we're trying to hammer in our points too hard? I'm starting to think that perhaps we should try to sound a little less judgemental of each other's decisions. That goes for me as well. I should say now I totally respect that you don't want to see the film and are not interested in the next games and I can see why. It really does suck when you spend money on something and it turns into a big dissapointment. It's just me, I'm the kind of person who likes to hold onto things for a long time to see if they get better

                              • Umm, okay, I see your point. But I can't really help it. I mean, I have to sit there listening to everyone, and I do mean a vast majority of people 'hammering in' how Anderson is a horrible director, and how the live-action movies have no redeeming qualities whatsoever. And yes, it every bit makes is seem like those people are implying that I'm stupid for enjoying Anderson's movies, when, personally, I think that taken into proper context, they're fine action movies which involve some of the core things that made me like Resident Evil in the first place.
Some people utterly hated Anderson's movies, and they happily go into movie-related threads to talk about how Anderson is a shit writer and director. Now, I just happen to be an eye for an eye kind of person. And if people fully exercise their right to point out every flaw in Anderson's movies and talk about how they're not only terrible in the context of Resident Evil, but are terrible in general, how can I help and not voice my negative opinion about what Capcom's been putting out lately?
