You're just being cynical. Game series that last as long as Resident Evil are destined to go through a change at some point in time. Just because you don't agree with the change doesn't change the fact that Resident Evil is still Resident Evil.

It is still resident evil regardless, it isnt just tied down to one genre. The story lines are still well written, there are still horror elements and the action makes it exceiting.

To put it in a different way, it's capcoms creation, not the fans. They came up with the story, so they must make the changes that suit where the story line is headed. But i would of thought that BOW's reappearing in RE5 would make the old school fans happy?

Lots of people would disagree with you there. RE4's story was pretty shitty, and most of the horror elements have been replaced with action and quicktime events(QTE's). I enjoyed RE4 for what it was, and will do the same with RE5...but I really do hope that the old school horror elements(not knowing what's behind this door or around that corner, "OH SH!T" moments where something pops out) come back, along with a much better storyline than RE4's cliche'd piece of crap plot. I have very high hopes for RE5's story.

I read that one of the BETA's for re5 involved zombies, would you of liked it that way even with the action element, or do you mean you want them to go back to the ways of the ps1 games?

As ive said in other threads i love all the re games, and dont mind what they do with it, but i would of liked darker lighting in re5.

I'm not against the new gameplay style, I don't like how they ruined all the plot we were following. The more they explained the more ridiculous it got. If they were to kill-off Umbrella the way they did, it would have been great if there was a RE5 called "The End Of Umbrella" instead of a cheap Chronicles of... then there... a new game with new characters, las plagas could've been released and that's where you could chose if you are still with the series or not, but they decided to mix-up the two stories and that's what it pissed me off.

I actuly didnt mind the story mix up. But i see what you are saying. I guess you can make that choice after re5, since old umbrella mysteries will be solved, and RE can start fresh with weskers new umbrella or what ever his plan is.
Or....if he dies (i doubt it) start over with a differet bad guy.

I actualy do, yes even though gaiden isnt really cannon.
To be honest i didnt notice marcus was actualy singing, i thought it was a music track in genral. Either way i liked it. I guess the only thing ive given a critical thought to is Devil May Cry 4.

I think the heart of the series surely beats less these days, but hopefully it can eithier redeem itself or at least go out on a high-note with the next installment or two before it dies. As for the pic, I'm a graphic designer and I think it's pretty damn good

To me the series is dead when the plot is dead, for now to me the plot in RE5 seems better than the crappy RE4's story. we'll see after march 13

I dont obssess over resident evil, i just think its a good game, along with MGS, DMC and so on.
