Why Did Shinji Mikami Leave?

Shinji Mikami was the one responsible for "RE4's shit storyline". It was Mikami's decision to scrap the old RE storyarc and do a "fresh start" for RE4. Everything "old school" players hate about RE4 was Mikami's work.

He left the company because he went public saying RE4 would be a Nintendo exclusive, and then the Capcom execs overruled him and released it for PS2/PC, which to Mikami is kind of humiliating and disrespectful since it forced him to go back on his word. That is why he left.

Personally I think the series is better off without him. He started it, and he deserves respect for it, but I prefer more advanced writers than "save the presidents daughter" keep the series going.

Actually RE4 was his idea, I think him leaving just because it didnt stay exclusive was a pretty dumb reason if you ask me.

It's not only for that. Be serious, he ran out of ideas with RE. Plus, many fanboys were not that happy with his decision of RE4 going for PS2. Tempers were running hot. There's something behind this we still don't know.

yup. Mikami created the game you all hate so much. HE decied the change.
Basicly old school fans are contridicting themselfs xD i read on here that some one said that he should make re inhis new studio in the direction he wanted. Well the new resident evil is that direction.
Just so people know, this is my opnion of course. So i dont mean to start an argument by it. :]

Mikami can't work on the RE series in another studio, copyright infringement comes to mind considering RE is CAPCOMS, and trust me, they will do what can for money.
Besides, isn't he working on that Bayonetta game with his studio? The one that looks like the same engine as DMC?
