  • Ada's Importance.

Just how important is Ada to the series. It seems that as the series goes on and on she has some deeper connection.

    - In Resident Evil, Chris and Jill has to use her name to unlock some of the doors in the lab so they can further investigate.
    - She actually shows up in the events of RE2 and partners up with Leon and then she helps Claire towards the end by giving her a weapon.
    - In RE3 she has her own epilogue. -Which to me, made her an official significant character.
    - In RE:CVX, Wesker's Report was written for her eyes.
    - In Resident Evil 4, she is sent in by Wesker and/or the Organization to retreive the Las Plaga, which appears again in Resident Evil 5.
    - In Umbrella Chronicles it's revealed that she was able to retrieve a sample of Birkin's G-Virus and then gave it to Wesker. It was also revelaed that she might have been able to retreive data from U.M.F.-013, which contains all of Umbrella's data. She may have supplied this to Wesker and that might have been the documents he used to help take down Umbrella.

She went form only being mentioned to making an actual appearance to having an epilogue, to having the series most important document written for her and to having her own mini game and report.

Prime Blue is right. She just used the helicopter to escape Raccoon City, she didn't take any of the data from the container.

Wesker ends up with the data himself at the end of the Dark Legacy 2, once he extracts it all from the stupid Red Queen computer. So, he does have the information, but Ada's not the one who gave it to him.

        But, anyway...

I don't think Ada's true intentions have yet to be revealed. So far, Ada's role in the series has been to primarily serve Wesker, the only difference being that she is conflicted over which side she actually wants to choose; because while she *is* on the "enemy side," she often tries to do the "right" thing, especially when it comes to Leon.

What I'm curious about, however, is what Ada will do for the remainder of the series if Wesker ends up dying in RE5. I mean, I'm pretty sure by RE5's timeline, Ada and Wesker aren't even working for the same corporation anymore. He was supposedly in contact with that "S" corporation, while Ada seems to stick with the organization she was working with in RE4. But, who knows...

I think Separate Ways hinted enough that Ada really does have motives her own, both good and bad. She, like Wesker, needs to continual swap loyalties in order to achieve what she wants.

Man, beasley, you went all out on this thread.

I think Ada has developed some importance to the series, but I think she wasn't initially supposed to have much involvement. I mean, her situation is comparative to Wesker's. In RE1, Wesker was the main villain, then a couple years later they decided to resurrect him. Then he became more integral to the series, and was given a deeper backstory, etc.

Ada was some unseen lab worker in RE1, then in RE2 they expanded her story. She did have the epilogue in RE3, which I agree with you...is a pretty solid indicator that a character is a "key" player in the series. (Notice that Rebecca didn't get an epilogue, and Carlos - who was in RE3 - didn't get an epilogue.) Ada then disappeared until RE4. I think that is actually when the developers really gave her enough character development to make her essential to the series.

          I still don't think she'll be in RE5.

Although I think Ada is pretty cool - I could do without the Matrix-like ninjitsu she pulls off, and of course the way she swings through the air with a grappling gun. It's like she's Spider-Man or weighs less than 50 pounds. And then there's the whole idea of wearing a dress into a battle...ugh...

Agreed. Besides, when RE2 came out all those years ago, Wesker was "dead," so I don't think they created Ada with the initial concept she would be working with him.

In a way, I think Ada also--somewhat, very loosely--holds the connection between Leon and Wesker. Leon's all lovey-dovey for Ada, and she has strong ties to Wesker. Without Ada, Leon really has no connection towards Wesker. But, then again, that might be irrelevant, because Leon and Wesker have never met face to face, as opposed to almost all the other characters, so it might not matter at all. Then again, he does spew the whole "So it's true! You working for Wesker!" thing when Ada and him reunite in RE4. Meh... whatever... I'm going around in circles...

Ada was never really working for Wesker.
She talks about we, 'the Organization' and refers to they, 'S' (the giant pharmaceutical company).
"We (the Organization) needed a sample of the parasite. A 'master Plaga specimen'. I gave Wesker a different present, just as the Organization ordered."
"Pretending to work for Wesker was... entertaining."

As far as we know she isn't double crossing the Organization and she's not really working for Wesker or 'S'.
She goes on to explain that S are now the big cheese and "We know Wesker has been in contact with them".
No mention of Tricell... I guess they hadn't added that to the story yet. We all know that Capcom just makes up all this shit as they go along but it's fun to try and keep track of it all.

I have to agree with you on that. Capcom has no plans and if anything they just make the story more confusing. I always thought that if Wesker dies that Ada would take his place but again capcom probably doesn't have any long term plans.

Ada is a confusing character. I'm gonna have to wait until the big 'unveiling' of the secret she holds before making any assumptions.

Ada was a background character in RE2, now she's quite popular. Her appearance in RE4 made her a more interesting character... She got sexy too. She seemed old in RE2.

Video version of Wesker's Report is not canon. Claire B is not canon.

She merely sat on the container, having escaped her death in Raccoon City. How should she have extracted data from it?
Who said I was talking about the video version?
Nobody knows what she did when she was on that container.

When they showed her looking at it, it looked to me as if it was more than just a look. Think about it. Ada sitting on a tank with all of Umbrella's info. Highly unlikely that she would just sit there. But either one of us could be right. She might have just sat on the box.

Prime Blue is right...she's sitting on top of a shipping container that is sealed shut, since its contents are being moved via flight. Besides, Ada would be focusing on trying to not get blown off of the top of the container due to the physical push of high winds. Of course, we are talking about Ada (a.k.a. Trinity)...

She probably didn't even know what was in the container. She wasn't privy to any sufficient intel since she was badly injured and just trying to escape with her life and the sample that Wesker wanted.
