Chris' portion of RECV was actually the better part.
and no Chris is not the main protagonist of the series, to be a main protagonist of a series you have to be in every game, RE has an ensamble cast of Jill, Claire, Leon, Chris and maybe Rebecca if you include here as well.

Yeah he's the same guy. I never really listened to music much in any game but CVX, that was only because songs were made to be a big part of the game. RE3 had good music though. I enjoyed how it was used to make you feel scared, like the music when you knew Nemesis was about to burst out.
Chris will never become the main protagonistLast edited by Alexia_Ashford; 11-26-2008, 04:28 AM.

I don't see how that is bland or generic? He started off as a rebel (smoking cigs, spiky hair, kicked out of the USAF) and became motivated by the incident at the mansion. He found direction.
But I can see how he doesn't appeal to younger gamers...he became just a clean cut golden boy in RECV and REUC. He doesn't sport emo-hair or try to flirt with various women (Claire, Ada, Ashley, Hunnigan) or dudes (Luis, Krauser, Salazar) like the current favorite RE male. He doesn't spout lame one-liners, besides his zinger in RE1: "Looks like we got to the root...of the problem."
Lo and behold, here is RE5 Chris. He's gruff, unshaven, disillusioned...questioning what's become of his life; questioning what he's devoted himself to. He's been lifting weights to try to create some leverage against his superhuman foe, and maybe to supress some deep emotional pain (Jill's death?) - when you think about it, Chris is the most developed and empathetic character. He's the most real, the most human...which is amazing, considering how little he's appeared.
And, yes, he very much IS the main protagonist. A protagonist has an enemy, the antagonist. Everyone knows Wesker is the primary antagonist in the RE world, and who is Wesker's #1 enemy? That's right - one Christopher Redfield.
Sad thing is...after RE5, I'm guessing Chris will develop a large mass of fanboys like Leon did after RE4. I like it just fine the way it is now, with people disregarding him. Leave the rabid fanboys & fangirls to the lame characters, I say...Last edited by Jill's Boob; 11-26-2008, 04:37 AM.
