Well, let's keep our fingers crossed for Director's Cut. Or maybe even RE3. I'd rather play Nemesis on PSP, to be honest.

Well, that would be kind of overpowering don't you think? Maybe start with the magnum, but some event in the intro causes you to have NO ammo, and have a handgun as a backup. Then find more Magnum ammo after. Either way, it would be cool.

The PSP needs some good games. The PSP is a nice looking system, but the games suck. Every other system has some decent games, but a lot of the PSP games you can find on other systems, some are ports of PlayStation games (Final Fantasy Tactics and FF I and II), and some are remakes (Mega Man Maverick Hunter X and MM Powered Up). MGS: Portable Ops was an original game. And I believe there was Syphon Filter that was an original game too. Twisted Metal: Head-On went to PS2 after a while, and lots of games get ported from PSP to PS2. We need an exclusive original RE game for the PSP. But at the rate Capcom is going, it could be a very long time, if at all, we will ever see one.

There were two Syphon filter games, and both of them are awesome. There are also two Ratchet and Clank games, which are also awesome. God of War. The PSP has some real gems on it. But a lot of them are first party. But I guess it's the same with the DS. DS is worse though, because to find a good game for the DS, (aside from the obvious ones made by Nintendo) you have to go through piles of shufflewear.

PSP had a good 2 year run in 2006, 2007. The problem is that there's nothing really exciting on the horizon, aside from Resistance and... Oh crap, the other one slipped my mind. Lots of first party stuff. But now that MGS is out, and Silent Hill is out, it's like, there's no really good third party exclusives to look forward to anymore.

I want these games on a single, dual-layer UMD, all ported for easy use and a menu to select which one you want to play.

          RE1,
          RE2 (both discs),
          RE3,
          RE Survivor,
          RE Gaiden,
          RE CVX.

Deadly Silence fit on a 128MB (I think) cartridge, so that shows how good Capcom are at compression. That list should be no problem, and it would become a greatest hit.

The PSP is a pretty disastrous portable.
I think I've got nearly 60 titles for it on my shelf at the moment, and only 9 of them are "originals" (as in non-ports).
It's like buying a modern PC when all you're really planning to do with it is to play the games that already ran perfectly fine on your previous one.

Anyway, as for PSN distributed PlayStation titles?
One of the problems is the very fact that "anyone" can do that thing at home. Like people try to argue with "against" the Wii ports of REmake and REØ: You can still find these games if you really care that much. And unlike the Wii ports; these games look horribly dated.

Also, when putting up a PSN title, someone has to actually do it, and someone has to pay for the hosting and bandwith, and with low expected sales it might not really be worth the trouble. Don't quote me on this, but I think titles for PSN (retro or new) have to go through an approval process, just like on the Wii Shop and Xbox LIVE. Sony might even be the ones in control of when/if content goes up at all. (Though, personally, I guess having your own "store", like Capcom does now, will probably help eliminate some of those barriers)

And as for the PSP and Resident Evil in general... portables have somewhat proven to not exactly be a good place for certain type of game genres. Survival Horror is one such genre.

Nah, I disagree there. You can adjust the screen brightness for the right atmosphere, and take it into any dark area that you want to play the games in.

You would prefer the DS, which has plenty of original titles like Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre, M&M's Kart Racing, Cory in the House? Believe me, I work at a video game store. There are some pretty horrendous titles for the DS.

Oh, and for the record, Silent Hill Origins was scary as hell on the PSP, so that's not true.

I can see RE1, 2, 3, Survivor and Gaiden on one UMD, but there's no way CVX is gonna fit on that as well. CVX couldn't fit on a single CD, you had to use two disks for the Dreamcast/GameCube version.

So, you work in a game store, but you don't have Kira Kira Pop Princess in stock?

See, this is the problem I've always had with game stores, and I'm not really happy to see that it is a widespread worldwide problem. Whoever is in charge of ordering/selling stuff has got no friggin clue when it comes to games and just stocks up on the most retarded shit there is. Which is why you see Babyz on the shelf and not Kira Kira Pop Princess. (Or well, in my area you actually don't see that much shovelware for the NDS, as the people in charge know their shit when it comes to games and only stock up on the good stuff.)

Look, you say you have like 60 PSP games and they're mostly ports. But I think having 60 games period is enough, that's for all the systems in one's household. Are you gonna tell me that there are 60 great original exclusives for the DS?
I don't even think there are 60 great original exclusives for the PS2.

Problem is that they can't. At least not unless their PSP shelf is only gonna be built of multiple rows of copies of the same games or the same games they sold for a different platform up to a decade ago. ('cause the few other good exclusive titles are actually out of print).

As long as they keep entertaining and I the interest is there, I don't see the problem. Besides, people often enjoy having a huge selection with a bit of variety. It's not uncommon to see people with hundreds, if not thousands, of films (already guilty there too).

Yes. If the requirements are: "Not a port, multi or remake", I could surely name 60 titles that are indeed worth picking up, with price, genre and audience as part of the things to consider.

Then you either have a very narrow mind or must've missed out on a lot, as I could probably double that number without even having to look up names to refresh my memory.

And no, I'm not gonna bother actually typing up these lists for you. Just pointing out that you might be another case of someone who needs to open their eyes a bit.

It's not a matter of opening my eyes. I simply don't enjoy that many games. I didn't like a single Square Enix game for the PS2. And most of the other great games, like, say, Tomb Raider, or Indigo Prophecy, or Prince of Persia, are all available for other platforms.

That's not to say they're not worth owning. But unless you don't have a PS2, you don't really need so many PS2 ports for PSP, when obviously the PS2 versions of them are the better choice.
Yes, I own hundreds of movies. But once they come out on Blu-Ray, I get rid of the DVDs, I don't keep them around for every single format.

I crack up every time I see that Imagine Babyz case

Lol, yes the DS is targeted at children mostly, but there are a few adult games for it too (REDS, Chinatown Wars, COD4). My next door neighbour (a guy) has bought one for himself and his 4 year old son.
