No one ever mentions Billy and Rebecca, lol. But I dont think there was anything going on between them, Rebecca seems to always put her objectives first.
BTW, does anyone here think Billy was annoying in any way? Just wondering.

I personally don't remember there being much of a "thing" between Billy & Rebecca. Of course, I only played RE0 once and didn't much care for it either. (Plus, to me, Rebecca always felt like a 16-year-old girl, and therefore illegal.)

Billy seemed standoff-ish, but he definitely seemed like a bigger jerk in REUC.

I am fond of Rebecca because of her sweet, innocent nature in RE1 (plus the memories I have of playing the first installment of the great RE franchise...not to mention the fact that REmake is my most fave game ever), but when you really think about it...an 18-year-old female field medic as part of a special ops law enforcement team...is...ridiculous. Sure, she may have been a child prodigy of sorts, but the kind of horrific sights seen in treating battle wounds, not to mention her being a teenaged female would make it hard for her to be in such a unit. (I'm not saying this to be misogynistic, it's just hard to believe she'd possess the strength & mental fortitude at that age to be a legit law enforcer.)

Yes, I know it is a game, and many of the characters are too young to have their respective levels of training, but Rebecca is about as farfetched & unbelievable as a lone government agent killing an entire country's populace in a 24-hour period (not to mention a giant lake monster and various gigantic ogres, all the while protecting the buxom blonde U.S. President's daughter, happening upon his previously-thought dead love interest from 5 years prior, encountering & battling his former teammate who also supposedly died 2 years prior in a car crash & now possesses a demon arm, buying weapons from a bizarre cloaked man who can teleport to various locations, and finding time to flirt with his only agency contact who is a sexy young woman instead of an older, balding overweight IT guy).

Jesus Christ, is RE4 stupid, or what?

Shipping anything doesn't have to do with whether or not it was canon or hinted at in a game, but more that people liked the dynamic. That said, I ship just about everything because I think the dynamics are all appealing in their own ways. Chris/Jill is Chris/Jill, they were the original team and the things they were featured together in just show how well they trust each other. Carlos/Jill would be hilariously adorable in that Jill would top him so badly, and he'd probably like it. Leon and Claire would be a fun couple, and Degeneration sort of proves that more, even though Degen also had me appreciating Leon/Angela for what it was in it, and even Leon/Ada brings something the former two don't which is why it's also interesting to think about. Steve/Claire was appealing more from Steve's point of view, he's young, he went through a lot, he had a pretty skewed view on things, so it was cool seeing attach to her through that and made you feel bad for him in the end.

When I was in the army, we had some people who applied for basic training at 16~18-ish (instead of going for some typical school education), the majority of those entering before the mandatory service "age" were girls (We don't have mandatory service for females, though.)

In two years, that's more than enough to reach a permanent sergeant position, although you would likely be skipping weapons training in many countries, as they don't let you practice arms unless before you're 18.

Dunno if this also applies to the US (ages for various stuff). However, being assigned as the field medic of pretty much any team is very possible with even minimal experience as long as you can pass a few basic tests.

Oh, this thread is about the fan-fiction stuff? I guess I missed that vital clue.

Anyway, Chris/Jill is the only pairing I care about from the RE world. The rest are just kind of there, I guess. I have no vested interest in any of that. I play these games for the survival horror element mostly. It's just that Chris/Jill was kind of cute & poignant in RE1, and I was younger back then and more "aww shucks" about it.

Since then, I find the forced relationship angles to be kind of goofy and out of place. Especially the way you're made to believe that every chick falls for Leon in RE4+.

Wow, that is interesting. I thought about that aspect as well, especially with the young field medics in the military now and in the past, but they were mostly male. (This is a byproduct of the U.S. military forcibly keeping females from such roles and MOS's. Personally, I think equal opportunity is the way to go, but everyone does know that each sex has limitations.)

The thing about Rebecca is that she is supposed to be a field medic, a cop, and she also knows about pharmaceuticals and seems to also be a chemical engineer. It's just too much.

                  Oh, come on, guys.

Everyone knows the only canon couple in Resident Evil is Wesker/Birkin.

Besides, he is a one-hit wonder character who didn't even get an epilogue file in the exact same game that he was featured in. We'll never see him again.

As for Steve & Claire...don't wish that upon the young Redfield sibling. Steve was a nasally-voiced douche that kicked the bucket. We'll never see him again either.

Thank God for small favors. Carlos & Steve were lame.
i don't think they are together, i don't think any of the RE character are together except for Annette and Willaim Birkin, and maybe Tyrant and Wesker, XD.

i was just suggesting it, and it was obvious that Carlos liked Jill, she didn't like him though, and Steve was obsessed with claire almost, but Claire didn't even reealise until the end.

but i like all the RE characters, yes even Chris, i may not like his story much, but i don't hate him.

Jill only wants Chris, She just used Carlos to escape alive from the city, but she didn't need his help at all. She was the one who killed Nemmy. ;)

She "used him" in the way that he could just stare at her perfect body... you know.. look but don't touch bigboy. She said to him something "Keep dreaming..."
Well, she was dressed to kill... you know. I would have crawled like a dog...(censored)

Well, it's not like if she had access to a helicopter without Carlos and his flare, or whatever, it's not like she would've left him behind.

Oh yeah, yeah.... but who killed Nemesis? She was killing Nemesis when Carlos went to fecth help. She also managed to kill Nicholai. I hope you're not focusing on REUC, because that game does not exist for me.

Yeah, but would you rather play as Jill the entire game only to have Carlos swoop in and finish off Nemesis and Nicholai? No, of course not. It was bad enough that Sherry stopped that train.
But that doesn't mean that Jill didn't care about Carlos on some level. Afterall, he did save her from the virus.
