Remember, the PCs of the time weren't too powerful, and the Dreamcast might not have been able to handle it.

They weren't able to do stuff like that in real time, so they just rendered it, without doing it in high poly graphics.
But yeah, it was pretty inconsistent.
Frankly, I would've liked to see the Wesker and Chris fight done all pre-rendered with high poly character models. It could've looked so much better.

I don't think that really matters. There were barely any high poly scenes anyway, and I never found it difficult to know between cutscene and gameplay. It's the same with all RE games, in 1-3 a lot of cutscenes were low poly but the way to know it's a cutscene is the fact that you can't control the character. Perhaps the graphics were inconsistent but nothing about the story was.

i thing you misundestand me, there are about THREE types of cutscenes in CVX.
high poly
low poly
in-game
and then there was gameplay.
but Claire's gameplay model was slightly different than her in-game cutscene model, in fact she had about 4 different models, but i just found it a little weird that her in-game cutscene model was different than her actual gameplay model.Last edited by missvalentine; 11-27-2008, 05:54 AM.

high poly - the ending movie
low poly - when Steve was killed or when the water drained out.
in-game - when Steve was starring at Claire's ass, or just any conversation at all in the game.
gameplay - when your playing.

I wouldn't say this would be my *favourite* ending, but it’s defiantly the most remembered, coming from my child hood.
It was when I was just a child and playing on my game gear, I was playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the master system version, (Don’t get this mixed with the Sega genesis/mega-drive) and those original sonic games were hard as hell. Bitches in fact, but Sonic 2 had an emotional attachment to me. It’s when you watch the beginning of the game, you see Dr. Robotnik, tails being kidnapped by his machine and then flying away. I spent countless hours and many game-overs to defeat the final boss to rescue Tails, but he was never seen, only to see Sonic keep on running in the credits and just to before the game finished, a cloud in the shape of tails. Again, I was a child and I thought Tails was dead so I cried a little.
Tails will forever be my beloved game character in gaming; funny to say that when I love many genres and into mostly mature titles, but I’m a victim for buying the sonic titles when they get released.
EDIT: All balls, this is in the Resident Evil topic, I need to take off my blind glasses.
Favourite ending in Resident Evil will be Code Veronica x.Last edited by Zombie Fred; 11-27-2008, 09:01 AM.

I didn't notice any difference between the Steve dying cutscene and the Chris flying the plane cutscene, so I really don't know what you're on about. High poly was also at the start when Claire storms the Umbrella Paris Facility. Of course the high poly scenes are going to be different from low poly, as they had been for every other RE game before then. Did Leon look the same in game as he did in the beginning car scene of RE2? Did Jill look the same in game as she did in the opening scene of RE3? Sheesh.
