Companies have done that before you know, have Capcom actually confirmed that is Sheva?
If they have not, that woman might have been put there for that reason to make you think just that.
Spoiler:
Another point is simple, she could be an agent but she might turn on Wesker and end up helping Chris instead. That could explain why she is at the ceremony if it truely is her, im only asking if that really is her because she looks nothing like Sheva (cough ronaldinho Fifa08).
Here's a nice pic for people who want to compare Jill to the tube girl also, look how similar they are:
Spoiler below (you may or may not have seen this before, i noticed it on youtube)

Jill is birdlady, that chick in the tube isn't her. End of story. ^^
By the way, with all this mess about Jill possibly dying, I guess we'll all have a big surprise after finishing RE5. She may not die after all and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that. I just know it. Though she may not have a big role in this game, she's pretty damn involved with the plot. Somehow, everything will be around her and Wesker. Whatever happens I'm sticked to the idea of Jill going under cover.

Apparently at the end of the RE5 trailer, her tombstone is shown, stating he died in 2006, any other material to back that up?

This is probably the best theory that I have heard.
Spoiler:
I guess the girl in the red dress is Sherry. I think it would be a waste to have it be a new character. Its about time that capcom starts filling plot holes and if people got to die, o well.

People aint leaving the series because of the death of 1 character, people are leaving the series because it is nearly entirley changed to what it was, Please go ahead and compare Re1 and Re5 and tell me the things in common expect Chris and Jill, it definatley aint survival horror anymore, the gameplay has been completley changed, the story is going beyond abnormal, They bringing in new hollywood characters who no one really gives a crap about (Sheva) maybe some peole are just not happy with the direction its taking, Jill dieing is just the final nail in the coffin. Hey if you gonna buy me the game I'll play it I swear, but if I dont wanna pay for it that's up to me mate not you. So less you buying me the game I'd say it's my opinion. Deal with it.

I see everyones points here, they're all valid.
Some don't like the series now, Jill is just keeping them onto it.
And some are Jill fans, but just want to enjoy and carry on the series, nevertheless.
Personally, I think if Jill dies, I won't be effected; I'm not a big Jill fan.
It will however, strike me as odd and stupid, not to mention fear for my favourite characters dying.
Remember, this is CAPCOM, if Jill's death is emotional and well recieved, well, they'll do it again!
