Yeah but merc's has no story to it so you cant really count that I'm talking cutscenes here and some actual plot. Besides how sure are you that the demo hack is real. I like to see it before I belive it. I'm not saying its real or fake I just havent taken it into account.

Just watched the Degeneration Blu-Ray (Finally released in U.K. today) I enjoyed the film thought it was really good but not gonna get into a review here as much as I want to because this is Jill's thread. So I'm gonna talk about what I thought of her not even being mentioned. First off the director said that they wanted a female main character and decided that Re2 was the best selling game so he decided to go with Claire? Ok first off it was only so big because of the original dont get me wrong its a great game on its own leg's but to put all the popularity on Re2 is really unfair. The best characters featured in the first game and I was kinda gutted that not one of them made an apperance.

Chris only got mentioned once and that was in the extras but he does lead Re5 so we gonna get alot on him very soon, Jill as I said not even a mention, would it be so hard to at least aknowledge her. I was also disapointed by the Leon and Claire relationship it's not like I'm rooting for them to get together or anything but after all they have been through together where the hell is the catching up? Also someone on the extra's mentioned if there was a sequel then the fans would want to see Rebbeca?! The second I heared this I thought what? NO! To me Rebbeca is just a side character and she doesnt have much plot around her. I dont think we need to have Rebbeca joining some group like Leon and Chris and fighting the "Terrorists". I'm not sayng use Jill but please someone a little more interesting, what about Ada, Carlos, Barry or Billy someone who we still have alot of questions to be answered with, I personally have no questions about Rebbeca she's a Medic for christs sake so she grows up and gets a job in a local hospital there's no way she should have her own movie out that would be such a flop, I was really suprised she headlined Re0 and it's my least favorite out of the main games. I dont have anything against Rebbeca she's not annoying or anything but she's just not interesting. Anyway to wrap this up I saw a post on Gamefaqs titled "Jill not important to the overall Resident Evil plot" Looks like someone got that right I wouldnt be suprised if she doesnt make it out of Re5 alive because I think Capcom are to busy making up new characters to tie up the plot with the old ones. Leon has had 2 games and a film based on him and all I really know about the guy is he was a rookie cop then became a special agent. What they should do is just release a book about all the characters and thier past, presents, familys, friends and personal lives damn that would help the franchise.

Get a grip over Jill. Some of the bullshit I've seen in this thread over the possible (see; unlikely) death of a character is truly mind boggling.

There's no doubt that she is in the game it's just to what effect could be a quick mention of her name or she could have a much more important role the real question is what role does she have in the game. Personally yeah I think she's alive and she will play a small role no more than 5 scenes but I dont think she will be alive after the game. I have a feeling Jills gonna be the sacrifice Capcom make as so many fans seem to be blood hungry and wanna see a main character die. Tell you the truth so do I but just not Jill lol.

also i really hate it when people want to kill a main character of, and there reason is cause it would make it more realistic or someshit like that, i think it is ALWAYS a bad decision to do something like that unless it's in the final moments of the entire series, and RE5 is not the final moment is it.

example, i have been reading a CYOA story on another site that was quite good. and had some interesting characters in it, but the author decided to try something to shock the readers, and killed of a lot of the main characters in a plot twist some of them my favorites. and sure it was a big shock, but now the story is just boring as hell without those characters anymore, i want them back, and this is why i really don't like it when main characters die, it pisses me off so much.

and that is why i think killing Jill or any RE main character of is a very very bad decision to make.

capcom really makes me laugh with there lack of knowledge about there own series sometimes,

RE1 and all the Directors Cut and Duel Shock versions of it put together are more than RE2's sales im pretty sure.

I also beleive she will play a massive part in this game, even if we don't realise till near the end of the game, like i said earlier i can't see her dieing completely.

Also i do not see much point in selling a book for that sole purpose, maybe giving a free booklet out with the game but that is about it.

I am hoping she will be an important part of the game, since we have not heard much of her since RE 3, or indeed UC if you have played it but really, it is been since game 3 of the series when she was last so prominent and has since vanished. It does however make sense for her to come into 5 with Chris being the main protagonist and that it appears her death or disappearance is going to be a big subplot of the game itself even if we do not realise it. I got a feeling that Chris went to Africa initially to help this new group out and help take down a large part of Umbrella, but also secretly he is trying to discover just what actually went down with Jill and her 'death' and perhaps even has a nagging suspicion that nothing is what it seems concerning it.

Sorry spencer but it is a fact that alot of people will want to talk about Jill's apparent death and or part in resident evil 5 till the game get's released.

It's just common curiosity, i think i'm one of those people who will forever speculate what will happen and what bearing this will have on the overall story.

It's not a bad decision unless it's done right by the creators of the game. That's my opinion.
