Originally posted by ValentineKnight View PostI just feel like I have to say this but when I read Jill died it just depressed me cause I was hoping she'd be a main character again or in RE5...sorry to his fans but I've never liked Chris.
and i agree about Chris, never liked him, he's my least favorite character.
but now i don't think she's dead at all, im almost 100% sure that Jill is BirdLady.

Largely because introducing yet another pharmacutical company is fucking stupid and Wesker doesn't really have any need to switch allegences yet again.PROJECT Umbrella - The BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL Compendium

Originally posted by ValentineKnight View PostMe neither...seriously if they do kill her I'll lose all my respect for the RE team. Why?Because killing a character for the sake of motivating another character to go on a manhunt for the villain(and for the sake of sales) is predictable and it's been done a million times over already. (It's getting annoying)
if Jill dies, i lose all respect for RE and it dies, especially if it's just to fuel Chris's rage so he can kill Wesker, that would be the worst possible thing they could do in RE5.
killing of a fan favorite is always a bad decision, always.
cause after there dead, why should i bother with the series afterwards?
i have no care for Chris, Leon sucks now, and is a Chris clone, Claire is now a soldier, and is not motherly anymore, which sucks, Rebecca and Barry are non existent, camera angles are gone, horror has been replaced by action, the story sucks now, everyone is on roids or has super powers, and it's now almost a war game.
what reason do i have to continue the series if Jill dies? since she's the only thing holding me to the series right now.
im a classic RE fan, and a Jill fan, not a new RE fan, so don't whine and complain about this topic if say Jill is more important that RE5's plot.
sorry about the rant.Last edited by missvalentine; 02-01-2009, 12:24 PM.

^ I'm like this, didn't like the ones that came after 3...And Jill was also the only reason I gave the series a second look(after playing as her on the gamecube one. I looked into the series but found RE4 uninteresting So I kept waiting/hopeing for Jill to comeback Yes I got into a game for a single character go ahead and laugh at me if you want I don't care I still think Jill was better than Ada)Also I remember hearing of the crap Capcom caused when they tried to remove Ryu,Ken,Chun Li and Akuma(the 3 characters who are most associated with the Street Fighter series and a reoccurring fan favorite) from Street Fighter III. I don't even think I need to elaborate on how that went and here they are about to do the same shit again(Do these companies never learn?)Last edited by ValentineKnight; 02-01-2009, 03:39 PM.

Its not unusual to get into a series because of one character in a game. A lot of guys got into Tomb Raider based on Lara Croft alone and stayed for the gameplay and storyline once they got into it. And Final Fantasy is another genre where a lot of people got into the series because the loved a certain character in the game they played and then decided to check out the other titles in the series.

On that note too, the main reason I got into RE in the first place was RE 2 and the amazing gameplay and how the horror aspect was a totally new concept to me and the fact that you just did not know what to expect. In that respect I liked Leon and Claire more in the game than I do in any other incarnations that seemed to have f'ed up their characters and made them nothing like the people I cared for in the game, much like they screwed up Jill in the second RE movie.
Point is, you want to care about the person you are playing in order to want to do what is best for them so they survive, and in the new RE games you just do not get that like you do in the older games imo. It is all action and not enough character development unless you have been following these games since the first release.
