I too am a Jill Valentine fan but probably not the same as alot of people around here from what I can tell. Its actually quite depressing to know that alot of her popularity stems from "Whoa Jill in Resident Evil 3 is hot, shes my new favorite character". Its even more depressing when I see arguements on forums between fans and haters, haters express their understandably valid points and fans go one of two ways. They will also put out valid points or they will post half naked fan-art/hentai that is seemingly supposed to help their cause.
Jill is awesome but not because she is hot, at least in my opinion. I found that she was believable as a female heroine unlike alot of others that were around at her time. People used to tote how amazing Lara Croft was and I honestly could never buy into that hype. Of course this all could change depending on Jills role in Resident Evil 5, but heres to hoping it doesnt.

Thanks, I think. lol. I have actually viewed these forums for a while but never took the time to register. Reading through this whole Jill Valentine thread I think made it so that I had to say something.
Let me also say on the subject that I think most people are in agreement that while Jill's death would be a downer, it can still be plausible depending on how it is. If it had been true and Capcom killed her off between games and all we got about it was flashbacks explaining what happened, that would of sucked. However if through Resident Evil 5 events she ends up with the same fate, I would be ok with it for the most part.
Of course the way you go about it, Capcom has to be careful. If Jill ends up dying to help Chris/Sheva save the world, thats incredibly cliche and has been done before. If she dies while fighting Chris (She is a boss, fought at least twice) it also ends up being cliche and has been done before. While they would be a stepup from simply dying off screen, I think for the most part people would groan and go "Oh, how unoriginal".
Keep in mind, those viral trailers we've seen of Chris haven't depicted him as having a good life after RE5. I would'nt expect things to go well for him throughout the game. Thats assuming those trailers are canon that is.Last edited by Darinl1979; 02-13-2009, 01:43 PM.

Not to derail this into a discussion about Rebecca, but I don't think she was ever meant to go beyond anything from Resident Evil 1. Her field speciality was Pharmaceuticals I think so she never struck me as someone who would want to keep pushing the fight against Umbrella. Chances are she hid away from it after the events of Raccoon City.
I wouldn't mind finding out what she has been up to, along with Barry and Carlos since we really haven't heard anything after Resident Evil 3. Them being the main focus in a game? Don't think it would work.
Theres also the possibility that Albert Wesker has already killed them but I find that unlikely. I recall their being a Wesker Report going around somewhere that summed up his agenda after UC. We know of his hatred of Chris, but he also mentioned Jill and the other STARS members. While he dismissed STARS figuring that they didn't know enough since all evidence was basically blown up with Raccoon City, he still had an interest in Jill since she was infected with the T-virus from Nemesis. Nothing ever stemmed from that though, unless we find out about it in RE5.

Hey guys - I know it's real late news, but I wasn't sure if y'all were ever able to read what was on Jill's 'tombstone.'
All it said was " In Everloving Memory of our Dear JILL VALENTINE 1974 - 2006"
I just remember that no one was able to read it because all the images we ever had were slightly out of focus.

i love Jill because she's a woman, that can over power men, (Barry, Irving), and will fight for what is right, and will persue justice at all costs, and she can defend for herself, and she's not just a helpless damsel in distress. she proves woman can be hereos too, and she's my hero, which is probably why i tend to talk about her a lot.
i find a woman to be attractive not becuase of what they wear on the outside, but what's on the inside, i love Jill because she's smart, and she can think quickly in a dangerous situation, and many other things, i find how a woman cunducts herself to be more attractive that what she wears or what she looks like.
i was never into Lara Croft either, i like Jill much better, but i think some people just think i like her cause she's hot, which is competely untrue. if that was true i would be talking about Ada a lot more, she's sexy, but i find almost nothing attractive about her. no offence ot Ada fans, i don't hate her, i like Ada, but she's just not a girl i would love.
i like Claire because she's motherly (and has red hair ), i like Jill because she proves that woman are not weak. and i like Rebecca because even though she was just a rookie school girl and all innocent, she can still survive a zombie apocalypse when most of the guys in her team die.

Originally posted by missvalentine View Posti agree with every word you said, although i don't hate people who like her cause she's hot though, i love Jill for her personality and her character and what she does. ive liked her from the very first game as well, and i think i prefere her STARS outfit over her RE3 outfit anyway.

I don't know if anyone knows who Joss Whedon is, or maybe if anyone is familiar with the Buffy the Vampire Slayer tv series but one of the main reasons why I enjoy Whedons work is that alot of his focus is on making believable female character leads who while they can kick ass , also show their own mortality in any given situation or at any given time. For the most part Resident Evil has shown us this in its characters too.Last edited by Darinl1979; 02-14-2009, 12:58 AM.

all the RE female leads are much more than that, except maybe Ada.
like for example, one of the things i loved most about Claire in Degeneration was when she was looking after the little girl, and when she got scared, Claire hugged her. and when the senator was bad mouthing children, Claire slapped him hard in the face. and Claire only pulled out her moves when Rani's life was in peril. i love Claire because she's so caring an motherly. and that's an atractive quality in a woman, fictional or not.
