That is by far the worst crime committed toward Jill Valentine.
What kind of woman with military & law enforcement training would take to the streets (overrun by the living dead), pursued by a deadly killer, in a tube top (with no bra underneath as my profile image confirms) and a miniskirt? She's running around with her flesh exposed to FLESH eating zombies, in a pair of heeled boots. Any sane person would have broken into a sporting goods store or a military vintage store, and put on some appropriate clothing. You know, maybe also added some pockets to carry items?
But hey, lets turn Jill into a slut.
I can't even believe you are complaining.
I am always happy to see a 'tough' woman show a more feminine side. Hot even. I am totally okay with the lack of a reason or an explanation or whatever. Not realistic? I would say reality is a lot stranger than a sexy Jill in a zombie infested Raccoon City. Aside from her attire being fan service, I would say it's the most awesome thing that Jill is rather feminine and hot while 'fighting evil', instead of being this tomboyish Sarah Connor type of woman who wears bulky military clothes, has dirt under her nails, and 'secretly' wants to be a man.
Another thing is the contrast I keep mentioning. Then there's the plain sexiness of the whole thing, which doesn't hurt at all in my opinion. Seriously, that's the last thing I would complain about. Sheesh.

There are plenty of other ways to have gone with this. I don't think anyone in the world is gonna accuse Aya Brea of Parasite Even fame to secretly wanna be a man. On the other hand her costume was sensible, rugged and fairly effective. The only remotely sensible thing Jill wore was her boots, which would stop ankle biting zombies for a moment or two. So long as they weren't so stiff they slowed her down, of course.
Capcom wanted her sexy? Well, I don't get the point myself (but I've never been attracted to a video game character) but that's fine. The issue is they did it by sticking her in the dumbest costume possible. There were other ways...they chose the quickest, easiest solotuion: make her look like a hooker. And that's not something I like seeing on a woman who is supposed to be smart and trained enough to know better. Jill isn't some dumb civvie who doesn't know better. She's a former Delta Force and S.T.A.R.S member whose had previous experience fighting zombies. She should know what to expect and, more importantly, how to prepare.

Nothing says zombie protection like a bananna hammock/bikini!"

well, we both know an RE3 Remake could fix this up. and in an RE3 Remake capcom could give her a costume change that fits the setting more. and then still have the tube top and mini skirt as an unlockable but non canon outfit at the end after completing it for those that want it.

Jill could have had any number of better costumes. The tube top/skirt combo was solely for sexual appeal. Look at her in the Pachislot. Why was she the only one not in her STARS uniform, and why did they have to tear her clothes at the breast and thigh when Chris's shirt didn't get so much as a snag?Last edited by Bertha; 02-17-2009, 04:28 AM.sigpic

I can't believe what I'm reading here.
I didn't realize that this was 'The Christian Horror Group: seeking higher morals and family values'.
Maybe you could make a petition and send it to Capcom, showing your outrage and demanding that they dress their female videogame characters more appropriately.
Since when did wearing a boob tube and mini skirt mean that a girl's a hooker?!
I liked Jill's outfit in RE3 and no, I wasn't playing the game with a 'stiffy'. I just thought it was cool.
Some of you people take this shit way too seriously!

^ Agreed, Skunky. And, lmao at Christian Horror Group, hahaha! Why don't we instead put Jill in a long, blue denim skirt and a large, brown, wool turtleneck. We'll also thin out her hair to look more mousy and slightly greasy (parted down the middle with sausage bangs, of course, and no layers) and top it off with early 90's women's white reebok walking shoes with folded over brown socks poking out to tie with the turtleneck. Perfect! Will a fan artist PLEASE draw this?!

Unless I'm completely wrong about that...I mean a small mid-western town may very well be in the upper 90s during September/October.

Although, when I think of Jill, I think of a strong, creative minded, sexy woman. I don't think about how Capcom dresses her. I just see her and build an opinion of her character, which I've always enjoyed. I, as a male, have worked hard over the years to maintain a strong mind, and look very fashionable at the same time. Does that make me superficial? I don't believe so. Fashion is just a way I like to express myself. And, as a male, it's hard to do so and escape "gay" stereotypes. These would be characters like Dante and Nero, which I wouldn't find believable in the RE world.
I, for one, wouldn't mind some sexy females as well as some torn male lead clothing. That would be believable and well balanced... And would fulfill both sides of my psyche, teeheeLast edited by Cellardoorsolar; 02-17-2009, 06:10 AM.
