That's a very good question. If Wesker dies then what?

I just hope that we will see Chris and the rest of the gang again.

See, the thing with RE5 is, it looks to close out the true, main storyline that has been a constant ever since RE1 -- Wesker's storyline. Odds are, Chris will defeat Wesker somehow (because having someone besides Chris defeat him would be absolutely ludicrous), and an even newer story arc will emerge...and I'm guessing it'll surround Excella and TriCell.

So once the Chris/Wesker storyline is closed out, what do we have left?
What!? What is this? Barry would be an excellent choice to take Wesker down, he has a motive for it, and enough fire power. i say Barry should do it if Chris dies. hell id rather barry kill him anyway. only Barry is awesome enough to kill Wesker.

and Jill and Claire don't need a conecction to be in an Outbreak together. Leon and Claire bumped into each other twice during an Outbreak. i think Jill and Claire bumping into each other and teaming up in an Outbreak would be awesome. and even better if Rebecca is somehow involved as well.

It would be too much of a coincidence and most fans would hate it. Claire doesnt seem to want to fight in the same way that Chris, Jill, and Leon are willing to..shes more comfortable in her diplomat role. I think this was pointed out by Leon in Degeneration.

As for the next game, if done right I can see Jill as a main character if she survives RE5. Fans have been wanting it since RE3 and with the introduction of Excella...it sets up something believable. It just would have to really rely on good storytelling in RE5 to set it up and not end up being cliche.

This will be the end of the STARS storyline as Capcom said, but that doesnt discount anyone involved with STARS. I believe the canon storyline is the Chris scenario...as thats the only thing that would explain why Wesker hates him so much. Chris vs Wesker is the central theme and once thats done with...thats pretty much it for the STARS struggle.

But they could end it with 5, because besides Jill or Leon there is no central character who could continue on. Chris wouldnt be given another game right away, its not even sure if Jill is alive at the end of 5, Leon ...they would end up putting out some weird plot that puts him on a mission for the government and Claire..well doesnt want to fight..but most Resident Evil games werent based on the "want" to fight, were they?

Of course then there is Sherry Birkin, but I wont even begin to get into that.
as i said before, it means nothing if Claire and Jill have never met before (which im sure they have anyway, she's Chris's sister). and i don't see how anyone could hate it at all, if people didn't think Leona and Claire bumping into each other Twice! was stupid and unrealistic, then they won't think that about Jill and Claire.

and by the way, Chris and Jill's game in Remake are canon, not one, but both, it's a mixture. this is proven by Barry's line to Jill in RE3 about him repaying the debt to her from what happened in the mansion. and by Wesker hating Chris in CVX.

Unbelievable. Barry appeared in ONE game, not even playable, and Chris will now have appeared in 3 games as a playable character, ALL THREE OF WHICH were based around Wesker TORMENTING him and fucking with his soul, his very existence...and yet, you think BARRY deserves to be the one to kill Wesker? Barry already 'killed' Wesker once...or, at least, he had an assist on the Tyrant's kill.

Let Chris have his goddamn revenge. Wesker fucked with Chris and killed a bunch of his friends for his own selfish purposes, then threatened his sister's safety, and NOW he's going after his woman? Come on now.

        • How can both scenario's be canon? I mean events of some of them could but there are certain events that happened that really only one of the two characters could of experienced. Like which event with Wesker in the lab was considered the one to have occured? I prefered the way Jill's played out but I am leaning towards Chris's.

Or how accurate is UC? According to that game, Chris and Jill stuck together the whole time. Aside from not including Barry in that situation...it seemed plausible.

Truer words have never been spoken. Barry's a nice "sidekick," but the dude's pushing 50 now. Let him enjoy his AARP privileges.

And people are pretty quick to give "cult hero" status to a guy that did betray his friends, even if he was being blackmailed. Why didn't he just shoot Wesker in the face right when Wesker revealed the family ordeal, and then high-tail it back to his wife & daughters? It's not like they were already imprisoned by Wesker's goons. So Barry overall is a lovable yet dumb (gullible?) guy.

Well, looking at the main games, in CVX, Wesker's disdain for Chris tells me that it was Chris who ruined Wesker's plans. He even says just that. So Chris' scenario in RE1 seems most likely to be the canon.

Continuing to build on that, RE5 continues the Wesker/Chris animosity. Where there is Chris, there is Wesker. Even with the spoiler of Spoiler:
, that only proves that Wesker lives to antagonize Chris, who he could have easily killed on a number of occasions. I mean, even with what I just spoiled, Wesker could have killed Chris too. Why didn't he? Because Wesker most likely sees Jill as a pawn to screw with Chris' mind even further, instead of a full blown archenemy.

And if we are to follow the events in REUC, Wesker always reflects on "Chris and the others" or Chris alone in his dialogue. This emphasizes that Chris is Wesker's archnemesis. Wesker has always had his ultimate evil plan, but he enjoys toying with Chris and likes to string him along for the ride.

But seeing the namesake of this thread, the concrete evidence and simple logic will not persuade the Los Jilluminados to the contrary.

                    • ^Yeah, well a Jill Valentine thread with 865 (make that 866) posts is pretty goddamn stupid too.

At least "Los Jilluminados" is funny in a good way, compared to unbridled Jill Valentine fanaticism - which is funny in a sad way.

As a wise man once said, "the truth will set you free, but first, it will piss you off." Or something like that. I'm paraphrasing.

I think you can partly blame Capcom for their marketing of RE5 for that. The "Who is the Birdlady" and "How is Jill dead" debate/discussion has probably made her into the most discussed video game character in the 6 months. You'll be hard pressed to go into any video game forum about Resident Evil 5 and not find a ton of discussion regarding theories and speculation about Valentine. This forum is no different.

What? You started this when you cried that "Los Jilluminados" is *stupid.* So, people having a laugh at Jill fans is disrespectful, yet you thinking our humor is stupid is not? It's a two way street, pal.

I disagree. I was the first person on this site who claimed Jill was indeed the Mystery Woman, last summer, based on her jaw outline & lips resembling the REmake model. It became pretty damn obvious once her tombstone was shown in October. That doesn't mean I need to talk about it again and again. I'll just wait to play the game and discover how it really plays out.

There's a difference between simply talking about a character, and then there's the blindsiding of common sense.

It's like when the very first RE5 trailer was shown. People were arguing that the character was Ark Thompson or Carlos Homoliveira or Billy Coen. When it was obviously Chris, seeing as the face, hair, etc matched up to his REmake model. Then the first picture of Sheva showed up online and people were saying that it was Claire, even though the clothing, ethnic ornaments, and skin color all indicated otherwise. Finally, we have "Mystery Woman." Now that is like 90% Jill, I've seen people resorting to "it's Claire, no, it's Rebecca" comments.

There's proper, intellectual discussions. And then there's just rampant fanaticism and laughable assumptions.

But yes, you are right that it is prevalent. Which is unfortunate, because RE5 is about more than Jill. Hell, Chris -vs- Wesker, the appearance of SPENCER, Uroboros, etc is all infinitely more interesting than Jill. If anything thus far, she's just a plot device to ramp up the Chris/Wesker fight. (I enjoy Jill as a character; she's my favorite female character. But the response to her presence in this game - which so far we know next to nothing of - is GREATLY exaggerated by the rabidly obsessed "Los Jilluminados." To say they overreact to any little speculation about Jill is being kind.)

It's stupid to make fun of people, yes. I wasn't disrespectful in any way by pointing that out. Just like some people enjoy laughing at a 'Jill fan', other people might enjoy laughing at a 'Resident Evil fan' and calling them names. It's totally disrespectful.
