The Greatest Jill Cosplay of All

Bringing back a classic thread--with a BANG(of sorts). . .

For those who might have wondered who exactly is the cosplayer in my avatar and signature, I'd thought I'd share a few things with everyone just out of the kindness of my heart(haha). Needless to say, I am a pretty big fan of the P30 costume. I've always really liked its aesthetic, sleek appeal. It looked really great in-game in RE5, along with Jill's paled complexion and near silverly blonde hair. But I've always wondered how cool it would be, or if it was possible, to actually translate the awesomeness into the real world in a feasibly cool fashion.

One might think RE Afterlife might have been a prime candidates in doing so, given the multi-million dollar of its budget and resources, but, one can NEVER discount the utter incompetence of Paul WS Anderson. In Sienna Guillory's cameo at the end of Afterlife, the audience is treated. . .this. . .








I mean, wow, talk about a complete and utter lack of effort. Yes, it's just meant as a quick teaser, but WOW, that looks like something they bought from Wal-Mart. Let's ignore the fact of Sienna's hammy strutting and acting, and the fact the P30 device in the movie is not actually surgically connected to the chest of the individual(it looks she's wearing an friggin' amulet of all things). Not that anyone I guess was surprised by how lazy the design was, but seriously, that costume is just so laughably bad(along with quite a few other things in the movie), I just shake my head and wonder why the hell Anderson even bothered with it. It's like literally impossible to take her seriously in the scene, fan or non gaming fan. But I digress.

I never really gave it much thought that anyone would actually be able to make a convincing P30 Jill costume. The design of it would make it seem quite difficult endeavor to undertake. Nevertheless, all it took was one anonymous N4G.com link to a blog highlighting a "Cosplay of the Week", and this is when I came across the cosplayer named Spif Zaya.





Can anyone say nerdgasm? So completely and utterly epic. Spif Zaya is made of nothing but pure, gushing WIN. So, here are the links to the gallery's I've managed to track down.

Is there really anything more to say? Spif Zaya is officially, totally awesome in my book. I don't really care much about cosplaying or anything, but when someone puts in some effort, and makes something pretty damn impressive as that, you really can't help but appreciate it, both as a RE fan and just the fact she did such an awesome job on it. And yeah, she's pretty hot in it too(and pretty hot period). So, in the end, I just have to thank her for tickling my little inner fanboy fancy, and say "Well Done!"

I mean, hell--she accomplished as a hobby what a full movie production could not--a very convincingly replication of the P30 costume.

Brave, Ms Zaya, bravo.
