I can't comprehend how you could possibly say CV has more substance than RE2. Code Veronica was garbage. It was fun to play and it was much darker than the first two games (I'm going to count RE3 and RE2 as one game because 3 was pure retcon and the beginning of the end of legitimacy for Resident Evil and Capcom altogether. If they had the foresight to make RE3 a third "scenario" (though a whole different game) to Resident Evil 2 instead of saying "Derp hey look, people loved the shit out of RE2 more than they did RE1. We've got something here with this whole "city" theme, let's capitalize on it by retconning everyones favorite character into the situation", it would have been a brilliant game and still the best game in the RE series. Not that they weren't both awesome, because they were), but it was pretty much just lame. They recycled the tyrant, again, and not even in an interesting way, and just threw in Wesker, to piss you off that he was still alive and superhuman, and only a few unique bosses - the graveworm, which wasn't even a boss in RECV, was in RE3, where you did have to kill it, and was an actual threat. The only good parts about CV were the Chris/Wesker fight, KILLING steve finally, and the CG intro. Oh and the rapid prototyper that you used to make an item that one time, that was cool, that made me fantasize about a future where you could torrent physical objects. RE2 on the other hand was overstuffed with story and memorable moments - the tyrant dropping in on you and scaring the bejesus out of you, the way nemesis improved upon even more, the giant alligator, ada wong, birkin, LICKERS, puzzles - which CV was quite devoid of, extra costumes, come on. Of course, in DSC code veronica is much better than the actual game, but that doesn't make CV better.

But RE5? You must've kidding me. WSAD + mouse aiming + numbered shortcuts for all your items = pure win. It controls like your ordinary third person shooter, only with tank controls ;)Last edited by Mr_Zombie; 06-23-2011, 03:47 PM.

You know, that little thing called listening to fan feedback a lot of people seem to ignore because they like the idea that the developers are some sort of rogues? Remember, at the end of BH2 the city is still standing and still just as full of monsters as ever. BHCV was written shortly before BH2 was released so they were already moving forward with the storyline out of Raccoon City, so Kawamura was tasked to write BH3 as closure. Also, it was originally known as BIOHAZARD 1.9. It was named BIOHAZARD 3 because naming something "1.9" is disastrous for sales. So no, it wasn't made to capitalize on the success of BH2. Sure, if BH2 tanked, we wouldn't have gotten BH3. We wouldn't have gotten any future BH games. People like you are a little irritating when you bring up all this CORPORATE GREEEEEED bullshit while ironically explicitly showing that you know jack about the development of the game. You should give the developers a little more credit, since BIOHAZARD is one of the most tight-knit series' in gaming with a well-written mythos, which is quite a task for one so huge. The Metal Gear series has a smaller mythos and still manages to shit and vomit all over the tiles.Last edited by Vito; 06-25-2011, 03:24 PM.

I think what News Bot meant is that there's only 8 canon games in the series and no (or almost no) supplemental materials. And Kojima mainly managed to screw things up in post-MGS3 games (although IIRC there were also few retcons regarding timeline in MGS3).Last edited by Mr_Zombie; 06-25-2011, 04:17 PM.

I like the people who call Battlesuit Jill pale and ugly and praise BSAA Jills looks, when the only thing about her being pale is from a file and both in-game use the same skin tone.
One of the shots of her in the helo at the end is godawful though.Last edited by Dracarys; 06-26-2011, 03:33 AM.Beanovsky Durst - "They are not pervs. They are japanese."
