I like Jill, too. But she's certainly not my favourite character. I've never understood her popularity. Yeah she's very pretty, but that alone doesn't make her a good character. Ada is very beautiful aswell and, yet, she's certainly not as popular as Jill.
If anything, Jill is just a female version of Chris with less personnality lol

Not to necro too much (only 3 years) but "Always had a big nose."
Last time I checked 1 game in which she had a big nose doesn't qualify as "always" out of 2 previous games before RE5, which happened to be a remake. In RE3 her nose is somewhat big but not really.

Jill has become a gift and a curse for this series. A lot of fans want to see more games with her, and Capcom found a way to make this work to their advantage as DLC. RE5 gave us two DLC scenarios starring her. Then she is a DLC addition to Marvel vs. Capcom 3. At least the Jill related DLC in Operation: Raccoon City will be free. If they found a way to make this work for Revelations I'm almost certain we'd have more DLC chapters with Jill be it Raid Mode or main campaign.
Expect it in RE6.

Still waiting for another game with Jill as starring role, and no Revelations does not count, while she is the main focus there are still significant amounts of game starring others. I'm waiting for a RE3/4/5 style leading role. Start to finish with maybe a tiny section only to play as a side character. Sod RE5 style handouts.Beanovsky Durst - "They are not pervs. They are japanese."

Doesn't matter. Her immunity to most of the viral infections out there makes (and the fact she herself was an experiment under control) makes her nearly close to Alice territory. All that's missing is the mind powers.
But News Bot's point shouldn't stop at just Jill. It raises a valid question about the future of this franchise. How do you make the games scarier again? It helps to have characters unfamiliar with what's happening and less experienced to go up against the situation. Like how Chris and Jill were in RE1. Despite being STARS they had no idea what they were getting into when they flew out that night. Now they're both prepared to take on any type of BOW.
This goes for Leon as well. Once a rookie officer unaware of what was going on in Raccoon city. Now he's a government agent assigned and specialized for these occasions.
Most of the supporting cast are made aware of BOWs and some like Parker have had their own past experience fighting them before joining a returning character. Exceptions like Steve and Ashley be damned.
So if we want to make these games more scary it does help to bring in a new threat that the protagonists are completely unprepared for. To the point where the object is to escape with their lives being the main priority. For that, I can't see a way to make this happen without sacrificing Leon, Chris, Jill and to a degree Claire.

With the way the RE universe has grown, wherever a bioterror threat pops up the local BSAA crew will be sent in to save the day. You see the RE6 and Damnation trailers, got tanks and stuff now. I don't see how meant to play as as some 'normal' person anymore because the local BSAA should just have your ass out of there in 5 minutes. The only way it should work anymore if if you play someone seeking a way through or even to the monsters, as the last several games have done.Beanovsky Durst - "They are not pervs. They are japanese."
