I agree with Darkmoon. Something that's actually believable, not just "cancer".

Cancer would be the more realistic situation. Do you know how deadly radiation poisoning is? I'm surprised Jill and Carlos didn't end up with Radiation burns after that blast. But just the fact that the shockwave hit them means they were within distance to receive some serious radiation poisoning.
Honestly, has nobody ever watched the ending to RE3 and thought about the fact that a nuclear explosion would create a LOT of radiation?

Yes, it would have, and that also bothered the hell out of me. So I guess you have a point. If Capcom's gonna ignore one law of the real world, why not two?
So strictly speaking, if Jill was dead, it would make the most sense if she died in a helicopter crash on her way out of Raccoon City...

Umm, no, they could tell it in flashbacks, showing Chris come visit Jill in the hospital. And with every flashback, and every visit, her condition deteriorating, and her becoming weaker and weaker, until one day he shows up and she's not there anymore.

Barrys Super Awesome Helicopter is immune to real logic.

Hate to break it to everyone, but Jill committed suicide, too many scandalous topics on RE boards, couldn't take the stress anymore.
