Mere minor exposure to the virus (such as that exhibited by the Keeper and the Outbreak survivors) will take days or weeks, while major exposure (as in, virus released intentionally) will result in a much shorter time frame, say a few hours. Degeneration doesn't change anything about the infection rate. In-fact it remains consistent with the rest of the series.

However, you do raise a fine point with the sleeping aspect. But it only applies to the Crimson Head at this point.
You actually just confirmed my theory.

Keyword being "incapacitated". One could assume that the colossal blood loss and through that, ones ability to fight the virus, could be directly responsible for the fast turning. Even though Keepers diary doesnt confirm it as its most likely just a piece of interesting writing, you could say Keepers health and condition degraded at night.

Sleeping, incapacitated and killed, all seem to have a similar effect.

Anyway, I seem to be alone in this theory (and I also believe that "zombies" arent dead per se, and are actually living).

Would the rate of transformation not be determined by the amount of contact with the virus carrior?

Like someone who is bitten on the arm and escapes would take alot longer.

But if someone was bitten clear on the neck it would be pretty fast.

Of course, it could also have something to do with the individual themselfs, maybe a certain person can naturally fight infections better then others.

You know, that is probably the simpliest answer. And usually the one used in most times. I just like the fact that RE hasnt been very clear on that so it leaves some room for speculation.

I mean, we have that truckdriver in RE2 who turned in the matter of minutes. Knowing truckdrivers myself, they are not the healthiest people. He was overweight, probably smoked like Titanic too.

              Dear everyone:
              1. No, I didn't pirate it, and I haven't seen it. I will see it when it releases on Blu-Ray

              2. I don't care if you pirated it and saw it. Stop telling me this.

              That is all, thank you.

Or very smart, considering Dama tries to get interviews around the game releases.

so im looking at some screens people have posted, and its weird, all the non-human stuff seems to be rendered pretty well, but its just the humans who look "off" .. a bit robotic i mean .. not really like live people.

watched it , 7/10 it felt shallow for me but this is MUCH better than the crap that is the RE trilogy, it didn't feel as 'epic' as the resident evil games in terms of setting and action. and don't get me started on the terrible model of leon.not only did he look different but his annoying emo self is back, in RE4 he was a good character.

You call him a good character? Seemingly there are not many people who share my thoughts. I think he was good in RE2. He died at the end (can't tell me this supermutant, calling himself Leon Scott Kennedy, is him!).
But in RE4 he came back with unnatural powers. Not as good as those of
Wesker in RE5, but... well... he's no longer human. And in Biohazard Degeneration he's just a freaking a*****e. If I would see a dear friend in a dangerous situation I wouldn't say "Try not to get killed". I'd say something like "Be careful" or "Take good care of you".

I'll stop to write about him at this point. He's just annoying and this topic would drive me crazy :-)

hey at least he wasn't THAT annoying in RE4 , i dunno about you but after watching RE: D i despise him now, oh and who the hell said that Leon had superpowers in RE4? he only got this a bit into the game but at the end of the game he got rid of 'em.

I think Leon's (good) change in character can be attributed to Kamiya directing rather than Mikami. This must just be how Leon was going to be in 3.5.

And that makes me wish they made 3.5 even more.

However, while I like his stern demeanor, I don't like the fact that he has zero emotion.

The flashback with leon and claire in RE2 was too good!!!

mmm, but i have a very big question for anyone: WHO IS THE GENERAL GRANDE?????
